I've been to this store, located at 9840 San Jose Blvd, in Jacksonville, FL, 6 times now. Each time the food has been fantastic, and the service has been sub-par. The reason for the 1 star review now is that for the 7th, 8th, and 9th time I went to the store, I was unable to order and left empty handed. Once I came at 9:50pm, 10 minutes prior to close, and was told the store is closed. The next time I came at 9:40, and while there were several employees at the register and behind the counter, as I knocked on the door, they looked up at me and looked away without any explanation for the locked doors 20 minutes before the posted closing time. The final time, I stopped at the drive through 1 hour prior to closing at 8:57pm, asked if they'll be open at 9:30 for me to come place an order, and they told me they're staying open until 10. I reiterated to the customer service associate that I'll be gone for a while, and will be back between 9:30 and 9:45, and asked again if they'll still be able to serve me at that time, and I was told as long as I come before 10 I would be able to place an order. I tried placing my order online via the Charleys app at 9:34 and was blocked from placing it. I came to the restaurant at 9:40 exactly and again found a locked up store, full of employees cleaning and trying to leave early while leaving a bad taste in my mouth about their lack of integrity, blatant dishonesty, and repeated utter disregard for customer satisfaction. If the store closes at 9, or 9:30, just post that! Stop lying to your customers and exciting them with fantastic food that is no longer available when they come within business hours. It's really...
Read moreThe experience was absolutely horrible! If I could give no stars...I would. I cannot believe that an entire team of cooks and even management could not process my sandwich request. It took the kitchen 3 times to remake a veggie philly. Veggie philly's come with everything like the regular philly minus the meat. What's so difficult about that? I could not understand what was so challenging to process about cheese, grilled veggies and added jalapenos on bread. It was still incorrect when I got home. The cheese was slapped on the sandwich unmelted and only grilled mushrooms and a few peppers.
The fries they claim to be natural cut. Natural cut is what you see at Five Guys. I don't know what that was in my bag, but it was not natural cut. There's no way this establishment can do well if operations in the kitchen don't change immediately! A kitchen must be run by people with some mental speed and excellent processing skills.
On another note, Dana and Destiny are exceptional cashiers. I propose you move Dana to run the back of the kitchen. She processes and understands orders well. She can decipher what's on the screen and execute. It's okay to recognize people's strengths and make adjustments when needed. A good leader can make these changes and allow their subordinates to capitalize on their strengths. Not everyone in a management role...
Read moreYou will find a mix of good and bad here. The buns are warm and fresh which make the sandwiches a pleasant surprise to the tastebuds. The taste of the meats are subtle and the sandwiches lack the very sauce necessary to differentiate the sandwiches. Overall my teriyaki chicken was good but a lack of sauce made the meat dry. The presentation is nothing to make the purchaser appreciate the amount of money we just forked out. The "gourmet" fries come at a premium price without a premium size. Worse, the cheese and ranch dressing was little more than a teaspoon scoop. The interior is clean but the service was poor. The cashier lacked knowledge of how he was able to use his own equipment. Nor could the person answer questions without a near incoherent mumble or completely ignoring the question. After our order was screwed up the next person had to get a supervisor to take and input the order correctly. I don't believe our order was calculated properly and overpaid. There is much promise here and I wanted it to be a quality experience but the end conclusion for me is a $30 loss which taught me to stick with other places that give more value...
