The biggest complaint I have is that I waited 40 minutes for a drive-through order. When I did get my food, it was not hot, but merely warm. I did have a large order, but nothing was hot. The food tasted okay, but 40 minutes was excessive and unacceptable even if I were to dine in. There were only 2 cars ahead of me, and I should have known there was a problem when they were both directed to park instead of just receiving their food. The two people ahead of me received their food within 5 minutes of me receiving mine. By the time I left, the parking lot was full of cars, and none of them were dine in. It's very simple, either close your drive-through, close your dining room, or hire more people. If you can't find people to work, you need to close the store. The only saving grace to this visit is that the person who took my order, who is also the person to bring it out, was very pleasant. It really seemed as though only 2 people were running the entire store. 1 cook and 1 person serving food to parked cars and running drive through. The couple before me had 1 box of food. The other car had 2 boxes. Even if it's made fresh to order, 40 minutes is long enough to serve 10 to 12 cars. Poor management of personnel is really the issue. Unless you have 2 fryers down and only operating on half of the equipment - poor management of people, or lack of, is the problem. If you're running on a skeleton crew, you have to make choices. But none of the store's issues should be at the ...
Read moreOh boy, hold on to your seats. I like to say anything positive I can in these, so here it is. The front of house staff was very polite, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and add ons. The walls and decor looked new. It goes steeply downhill from there. Not a single ceiling tile exists that does not have water stains and/or mold. The dining room smoke detector is dangling from the ceiling by its wires. Manager(?) working truck, back of house and front of house in sweats and fuzzy bath slippers with exposed toes. Add a 4 peice shrimp $1.99 was a great deal, until I got my luke warm shrimp. It seemed like they'd been under a warmer for a bit. Fries were luke warm and rubbery, tasting slightly like old oil, I assume they over crowded the fryer. My 4 piece fish were warmer than the shrimp, but not "hot", they were crispy. My wife's chicken was over cooked (dark brown in color) and dry. $44 seemed excessive, and about $10 more than what I had tallied in my head, until I watched the few people in the restaurant order water and go back for refills. Checked the receipt and sure enough, drinks were over $3 a peice in addition to meal cost with no way to refill except going to...
Read moreMy daughter and I had a craving for ocean fish for supper, so we headed over to Jacksonville to the closest Captain D's to us. We both ordered the three piece fish dinner. I got fries and slaw and an extra 6 hush puppies for us to enjoy--- they do have some of the best tasting hush puppies for a chain restaurant! My daughter has never tolerated slaw on anything, or with anything, so she got the green beans. They definitely would have been a better choice than the slaw. The beans had chopped up ham mixed in with them. They looked very tasty and Southern! The slaw smelled a little off 🤢. Never a good thing to discover about your Cole slaw. 😳 Smelly slaw can ruin your whole night... keep you real busy. But things turned out alright... with no side trips to the little room down the hall!! The Iced tea was delicious and went perfect with the fish! I love their tea. The fish was hot, delicious, well battered, and tasty! The fries, hush puppies and beans were good sides. Their usually good Cole slaw was off that night, but was okay. Their staff is always #1 for friendliness, courtesy, and assistance. We'll be back...
