Centy's Way — Restaurant in Jacksonville

When I walked in, Centy, greeted me.I explained that it was my first visit there. I showed him my coupon & he explained that it wasn’t necessary, since he had lowered his prices on the entire menu. I was just thinking oh, how kool! As I reviewed the menu, once again, I stated, “ I haven’t ever tried “Goat” before. Centy asked me if I’d like to try some, but before he could disappear & reappear with a sample for me, he told me that it tasted in between beef & land. He was true to his statement, I actually liked it. It was “Curry Goat” that he got for me. I ordered the “Jerk Chicken” because that is all that I had wanted for my lunch. I also tipped him because I was impressed with his politeness, kindness, his culinary skills and professionalism. I told him, that when I return in the future that I’d try a different menu item. It was my first time trying Centys and I have to say everything except the cabbage I enjoyed. There was one person tending the bar, kitchen, and front desk so the wait time was long, I was probably there for 30+ minutes. But the lady who was there was nice and very personable. They ran out of snapper and oxtail so they hooked me up with a little extra. I tried the cornbread 10/10, curry chicken 10/10, curry goat 10/10, beef patty 5/10 (not a lot of filling) plantains 10/10, oxtail 9/10 they didn’t have a lot left but the little bit I did have was good, rice 6/10, and the cabbage 0/10 because it lacked flavor. I would’ve rated it a five but I noticed they don’t handle their food with gloves. Food was great overall 4/5 service 4/5 atmosphere 2/5 because of the wait time and disorganization. I will...

My friends & I were otw home from having a weekend trip to Jacksonville ahem we pulled over and asked around for good food recommendations. We were appointed to Centy's and it didn't fall to amaze us!

The owner was very sweet and had just let his help for the day go. He was the only person staffed and made our unique visit worth our while. He prepared all 5 of our meals by himself and a friend of his girlfriend Ms. Ritza came in to help. Ritza was a great help! She even had my favorite hot sauce on deck for me to eat with my food (Louisiana hot sauce).

The food was BEYOND delicious!!! I loved every aspect of my oxtails. The pees and rice were amazing. The Rasta pasta was also really good and flavorful!! Would highly recommend to everyone...
