I refuse to go to the Panera at The Towncenter after an inaccurate to-go order was unprofessionally and poorly handled.
So this Panera Bread by the Target on Hodges / Beach has become my favorite. And with good cause. Their top of the receipt, just below their address and phone number, assures that Accuracy Matters and that they will make things right when a mistake affects an order. So far - no order errors.
The customer service is sincere and excellent. The place, including bathrooms, are clean; tables well bussed. There is a new manager here and it shows. He energetically greets all the customers and recognizes regulars who smile at his kind attention. The staff - from order taking to pick up - treat customers very well, giving the impression they are well treated by the company in turn.
My only ick is the code needed to access the restroom. I understand the why. This is a for-profit company that has struggled with an increasing number of houseless community members who camp out nearby. The bathroom code must be requested of staff. Call Panera on Beach and Hodges and was told that they exclusively use Door Dash for their deliveries and no longer use their own drivers (NOWHERE was this mentioned on the Website) I was told that I needed to contact Door Dash in order to receive compensation for my order (IE DOORDASH CREDIT) I explained that I did not order through Door Dash and I do not want Door Dash credits. The store associate as well as the manger were very rude and told me this is our policy. After 30 minutes or arguing with the store manager she asked again the name on the order and simply said "I've cancelled that order" I explained I did not ask for the ordered to be cancelled and she was basically well now you'll get a refund. Very poor customer service. Website makes no mention of Door Dash delivering the orders and they were completely unwilling to work with me on getting the issue corrected. Read morePlaced an order online for an iced Madagascar latte. Walked in to a hot cup of coffee with my breakfast. Not the worst thing to happen (it was 6am, I get it). Went to tell the associate & she nonchalantly hands me a cup to make my own. I stated “iced coffee” instead of iced latte. Couldn’t locate the Madagascar syrup, so I go back to the counter. This time the associate is visibly agitated. I ask for the syrup, Courtney states “it’s behind the counter” and pours the syrup. So I make what I think is the drink and leave. Get to work and realize espresso should’ve been in the drink. I call back and ask if expresso is behind the counter. Courtney states “yeah, you said Ice coffee, so I only gave you the syrup”. Tells me I can come back and they’ll remake the drink and rudely hangs up the phone. The manager (I think), took me once I came back. Courtney said nothing, as expected.
The damn drink was never made from the beginning. Regardless if I incorrectly stated the drink at the counter. I correctly ordered it on the app. Let’s start there first, Instead of being dismissive. A quick convo would’ve cleared...
