Oh my... A 2 hour early lunch on a Sunday that should have only taken an hour. We actually had to cancel some plans it took so long. The hosts seated us and it was at least 5 minutes before our waitress stopped by. She took our drink order, twice, didn't write it down, and got it wrong. 4 drinks, 75% correct, okay, not terrible, but certainly not a stellar start. Another 10-15 minutes, at least, before she brought the correct drink back. Then another before she took our order. She was pleasant enough and kept apologizing for her having "one of those days". Then our lunch started to arrive. 50% of the toast orders were wrong. We made due. Then the meat on one of the grand slams was wrong and the eggs were wrong. Luckily, they were edible, and so, again, we made due with a couple trades. Then the hashbrowns were wrong on two plates. We made room on a plate to play round robin with them and got that straightened out. 2 requests to get an iced tea refilled. Then the baby's food arrived after 4 requests, and was 50% wrong. She did fix thay quickly. To the waitress's credit, she advocated for fresh lettuce for my salad. Apparently they had a bunch that was pretty brown. Ultimately, the food tasted good, it was just a circus getting everything. There were 3 tables that came in after us and left before us.... It was exhausting. It would have been more relaxing to have gone home and made lunch from scratch. The manager must be new at managing. I am hoping that's the explanation, since he was terrible. It was like a kindergarten classroom where the kids are deciding what they should do and and then trying to put out fires. It was a show walking by the line. Then he came out to address our friends at the next table's concern regarding, first, no dipping sauce, then a gelatinous goo that was brought out. The manager tried to explain sauces to the gentleman. Not necessary, just bring what's represented in the menu. He came back with some beef broth supposedly synonymous with French onion dipping sauce. It felt like a marathon. Bottom line, decent food, fair service, poor management. We won't go back unless we have a whole morning or...
Read moreUpdate: tried again years later. Asked for a cheddar and ham omelet. She repeated it. I got an American and Swiss. It took forever for her to come back (and the place was empty) I told her it was no good. She got me a new order. The cheese was white. I thought Swiss. I was waiting on my waitress but no...she didn't check on me. The manager asked if it was OK. No, it's bad. She says they have white cheddar. I say if you are sure it's cheddar. She was and walked off. I tasted. No. Swiss. Tangy bitter like Swiss. Waitress? Nope, not until she gave me my check. I told her it was bad. She was clueless and put my check down. "Pay at register" She gave me $4.00 off a $20 tab Really? Done. Never again
We are guided to the back room and given a tiny table that is really meant for 2. There are 3 of us and we aren't toothpick sized. She should have given us the choice of waiting for a larger table or the small table where 3 squeeze in. To top it off she was going to give us one next to a family that stretched out and claimed their space. No room to squeeze in to the chair at the table we were to sit at. We pointed to another and took that. They took a chair from another table and stuck it at ours. My french toast was cold. Sausage was ok. My husbands omelet was super small with chunks of ham and very small diced onions. Not sure where the cheese was. The bacon was disgusting. It was like cheap over cooked or even pre-cooked then warmed bacon. ICK My son had the sriracha hamburger thinking it would be super spicy. Nope. Bland.
We will NOT go back The waitress was nice. The hostess was rude and was...
Read moreI haven’t been to Dennys in a long time. I generally don’t like to give lower scores but I feel that based on how my party and I were treated, it deserves to be mentioned. The food itself tasted fine. When we got there, we were asked what we were ordering from the manager and we had advised we wanted a specific flavor of hot wings. It came out wrong and in Buffalo. The waitress acted like she didn’t even care when we asked for ranch. My party and I ate the sampler platter anyway because who isn’t hungry after being at the bar? I asked the waitress if they had jelly because it wasn’t on the table like it normally is in some establishments. The waitress came back and slung the jelly on top of the table without even saying a word. Maybe I’m sounding like a Karen but I at least feel the waitress could’ve been nicer. There is an up charge for cheese on your hashbrowns and you will not be told about it when they ask if you want cheese on your hashbrowns, which in working in many restaurants we are required to advise of any up charge that way the customer can make the decision if they want to pay it or not. It’s simple courtesy. When I advised the management about the up charge, he was very apologetic and kind. This establishments waitstaff need to be trained on Customer Service. I would recommend any other restaurant...
