My friend ordered chicken lumpia which looked a little overcooked BUT still tasted great! She also got the chicken pancit bihon which she didn't like. My husband ordered the pancit bihon beef which unfortunately he didn't like either. Both of them didn't like how thin the noodles were which wasn't Filipino Cuisines fault. I did taste my husband's food and I personally like all types of noodles but this tasted weird. It tasted like the left over residue of whatever oil they use. I tried another taste of it just in case it was just I just got a bad part of it but the results were the same. The prices were great. I ordered pho and the meat that they used was different from the thin sirloin or round eye that I'm use to when ordering pho. The meat looked like the same meat that they provide with the pancit bihon. I didn't dislike it and it was very soft and tasty. I really wanted to try out their bilo bilo but unfortunately they don't make that unless it is Sunday. So instead I ordered their leche flan which was delicious. It was so nice and thick and creamy. Ultimately, if I had the choice to give this place a 3.5, I would but sadly Google limits reviews with whole star rating. After contemplating, I decided to give them a 4 star because I can see myself coming here again to order pho, lumpia and trying out their bilo bilo.
4/20/2025 - Happy Easter! I ordered (3) beef lumpia, beef pho, bilo bilo & halo-halo. I liked the chicken lumpia more. The beef pho was just as great as last time! I wish there was a smaller size available to try the bilo bilo since I had no idea if I would like it but luckily I did! It was mild sweet flavor. I love the doughy texture I randomly get. I'm not sure what it is but it taste amazing. It's hard to describe it. I'm not a fan of super sweet stuff. The halo-halo was also great! It was more of a dessert than a drink. Wasn't expecting that but it was a pleasant surprise. I loved the fruity gummy stuff at the bottom. The price of everything was very reasonable. Total came to $26.19 - All in all, I'm glad I got to experience the...
Read moreJust moved to Jacksonville last summer from Hawai'i and been reaaally missing all the food from home. Had no idea this restaurant was here. I was sooo excited. Walked in and were greeted very warmly by a young man and woman. The dining area looked clean and well maintained and they had a 99 A green placard for food safety/cleanliness so that's always a good sign. The place felt homey. The food prices were very fair. Drinks are bottled in a drink fridge. And the food was delicious. We got combo plates which come with a heaping of rice which is awesome cause we love our rice. She even told us to let her know if we needed more rice. The turon was good, pork lumpia was good, beef steak I think it was called was good and tender kinda like roast. I ordered this pineapple pork I can't remember the name but it was sooooo gooooood! Husbands chicken curry was good too. The workers were unbelievably sweet and very pleasant to talk to and had a friendly demeanor that would keep anyone coming back. The young man who was working at the counter when my daughter went up to order herself a boba was extremely sweet to her which was really nice because she's extremely shy and wouldn't usually order something by herself. There was also an older man who had walked in and I assumed he worked there cause he went behind the counter and was grabbing chopsticks and I guess he heard me say "they do have chopsticks!" (I prefer chopsticks) he looked at me and smiled and put up two fingers asking if I wanted 2 and I held up 1 finger for one chopsticks set. So friendly! After the really mean spirited people we've come across since being here in NC, this was such a nice experience. Honestly I just stopped going out(side) since moving here because we always got really bad attitude from people idk why.
BUT ANYWAY TLDR: Everything's great and we're for sure going to become regulars here. Places like this are like an oasis...
Read moreI’m coming from Sunny San Diego and I’ve enjoyed the two times I’ve gotten take away from here. I was shocked to have dinuguan in Jacksonville, NC, but there it is like a light shown upon a key item in a video game.
So far, nothing at this place is a miss. I enjoy dipping my puto in all the sauce/broth of the wonderful variety of entrees they have available. A coworker of mine won’t stop raving about the Lechon Kawali, which I’ll have to get this Sunday, since Kare Kare is only available on Sundays! Gotta have it.
Ordering any combo meal gives you a healthy heaping serving of rice which I very much enjoy. I haven’t ordered the solo entrees, so I’ll be able to explore that later.
The staff is very kind, as all pinoy/pinay are, and will take the time to explain all the dishes available at the counter and on the menu.
My only minor criticism is the atmosphere and Vietnamese food items that are out of place. The murals of the Philippines are charming and wonderful. But some things deter from the central theme of this eatery, just my opinion. Also having Vietnamese staples available is akin to Chinese restaurants having chicken nuggets and French fries.
I believe the main Filipino cuisine stands strong on its own and these chefs don’t need to pander to any other crowd. I’m coming from San Diego, CA, where the Filipino town is abundant with restaurants, this place can compete with them. I understand if these dishes are there for variety or if there’s excess cuts, or perhaps there are Vietnamese chefs in the back, then you might as well make the Vietnamese dishes, but it just feels out of place. But I love this restaurant no matter what.
I’ve shared my takeaway with my coworkers and they all love it. I definitely want to cater from this restaurant, which by the way,...
