My roommate, Jen, and I were planning on making beef and broccoli with rice for dinner but our sliced steak went bad because the container had ripped. Getting later in the evening and being tired from our long work day, we decided to call an audible. She was feeling a juicy burger and the idea made my mouth water. We went down the list of our usual spots and nothing sounded quite good enough to satisfy our burger craving. Diving deep into our memory banks, we both declared, "Red Robin... Yummm!" At the same time. I recalled having been to this particular location years ago and enjoying it. Jen went to the one in Wilmington some time ago, and told me a tale of good food, except for disappointing fries. Nevertheless, we decided it was worth the risk for a burger capable of satiating our growing hunger. Upon arrival we were greeted by the hostess and near instantaneously escorted to our table. She kindly let us know that our server, Daymian, would be right with us. And she was right. Simultaneously holding down 3 other tables, Daymian briskly delivered our menus and took our drink order. When Jen ordered a root beer, Daymian, the expert server that he is, must have read through my near-hangry expression and inquired if I, too, was interested in a root beer. Alas, I was interested but the thought of a milkshake was looming in my mind. I vocalized my desire and Daymian recommended I combine the best of both worlds, "why not a root beer float?" He understood me, I did not need to reply. A simple exchange of "thank you" and "you're welcome" and he was on his way. After the perfect amount of time to assess our preferences for a gourmet burger, Daymian reappeared with our refreshing beverages and asked if we were ready to order. We were, considering how ravenous we were. I instantly ordered fried pickles. However, I was admittedly undecided between two burgers and interested in his opinion. Oh, boy, was I happy I asked, apparently Daymian is a fellow foodie! I went with his recommendations and ordered exactly what I wanted, a Royal Red Robin double cheeseburger with the addition of garlic aioli between the patties and a side of bottomless garlic fries. After a short wait and some building excitement, our fried pickles were delivered. The Campfire Mayo was scrumptious and the fried pickles themselves were delightfully crunchy. Jen and I polished off the rest of the basket, and savored our root beer and root beer float. We enjoyed a bit of nice conversation, shared some laughs, and admired the decor. A few tantalizing burgers were delivered to a nearby table, further fueling our desire for our succulent meals. A few more appealing dishes passed, and before I knew it ours were delivered. I was beholden at the sight of the bountiful burger bestowed before me. Barely able to gape my maw around the mountainous burger, I endeavored, crushing the buns in a firm grasp. Popping the sweet egg yolk, the golden substance flowed over my already flavorful burger, oozed down my fingers, and dripped onto my garlic fries. I was smitten with each bite, bolstered by mayo and garlic aioli. It was exactly what I had wanted from the moment Jen mentioned burgers. I finished off my garlic fries with a perfectly satisfied appetite and rejoiced during the final sips of my root beer float. Thank you Red Robin. And thank...
Read moreThe restaurant was pleasant! We came in around Halloween, just after the lunch rush, and the décor was incredible — fully decked out for the holiday. The atmosphere was fun and welcoming.
Our server was friendly, upbeat, and very attentive. She checked on us often and made sure we always had refills or extra sides. Service was definitely a highlight of the visit!
Now for the food… I went with my father, who calls himself a “burger expert” (and honestly, he kind of is). He ordered the Sautéed Shroom Burger with garlic fries and a water. I had the Cheesy Bacon Fondue Burger with garlic fries and a root beer float. We also shared Mozzarella Twists as an appetizer.
My father’s meal: The Shroom Burger was unfortunately drenched in grease — it was dripping so much that the bun became soggy and hard to eat. The steak-cut garlic fries were also disappointing: they had no crisp or real garlic flavor, just a soggy mess with some parmesan sprinkled on top. He said the burger flavor itself was decent but could’ve used more seasoning, which he added at the table. The Mozzarella Twists, however, were a hit — crispy, cheesy, and not greasy at all.
My meal: The Cheesy Bacon Fondue Burger tasted good overall, but like my dad’s, it was greasy and could’ve used more seasoning. The burger itself was cooked perfectly pink inside, but the “fondue” came on the side in a small cup — completely solidified and cold, not creamy or dippable like it should’ve been. The garlic fries were soggy, broke apart when picking them up, and had no garlic flavor at all.
The best part of my meal was definitely the root beer float. It came in a chilled mug (huge plus!) and was absolutely delicious — sweet, creamy, and refreshing. It helped cut through all the grease perfectly. I enjoyed it so much I ended up drinking three of them!
After finishing my fries, I decided to try the sweet potato fries, since the menu photo made them look crispy. Sadly, they were just as soggy and lacked flavor. The ranch dressing helped a little, but it couldn’t save them completely.
In total, the bill came to about $46 — a little less thanks to a free appetizer I got for signing up for Red Robin’s rewards program. One small issue: my dad’s glass had a small chip in it, so hopefully they double-check their glassware before sending it out to tables in the future.
Key takeaways:
The food was edible but extremely greasy.
The staff was friendly and attentive — excellent service!
The restaurant’s Halloween décor and overall vibe were awesome.
Would I come back? Maybe — but I wouldn’t order the burgers or fries again anytime soon, especially for the price versus the...
Read moreDining out is more than just enjoying food—it’s about the experience, the service, and the feeling of being genuinely welcomed. At Red Robin, I had the pleasure of being served by Joshua, a waiter who went above and beyond to make our meal memorable. His professionalism, attention to detail, and warm demeanor were exceptional and deserve special recognition.
From the moment we were seated, Joshua made us feel like valued guests. He greeted us with a genuine smile and immediately established a friendly rapport, setting a comfortable and inviting tone. He demonstrated a thorough knowledge of the menu, answering our questions with confidence and offering thoughtful recommendations that suited our tastes perfectly. His timing was impeccable—he checked in just the right amount, making sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling intrusive.
Joshua’s attentiveness stood out throughout the entire meal. Our drinks were never empty, special requests were remembered without reminders, and he even anticipated needs before we voiced them. Small touches—like bringing extra napkins unprompted or making sure sauces and sides were exactly how we ordered them—showed that he truly cared about the quality of our experience.
What truly set Joshua apart was his positive attitude. Even during a busy shift, he remained calm, courteous, and upbeat. It was clear that he takes pride in his work, and that attitude enhanced not only our table’s experience but likely that of everyone he served that day.
In an industry where service can make or break a visit, Joshua’s dedication and work ethic were shining examples of excellence. He didn’t just serve food—he created a dining experience that left a lasting impression. Red Robin is lucky to have someone like Joshua on their team, and I will definitely be returning, in part because of the outstanding service...
