Had a very unpleasant experience as a Uber eats driver. After I presented the employees of the store with the name of my order the manager pulled me aside and instructed that I must use her drop off location handwritten on a piece of paper. When I try to inform her that this is not proper procedure and that my account could be deactivated for violating terms of service. I was then told by the manager if I did not listen I should just cancel the order and after that was told I was being rude for trying to explain proper procedure to a manager that should have already known what to do correctly. The customer receiving the order has options to change a location and contact the driver there is no need for this back and forth with the employees and especially the manager of the store. on top of all of that there was an additional 20-minute wait to the estimated pickup time and when I asked how much longer it was going to be I was told that I needed to just wait and be patient and that they're working on it I just wanted an estimated time I don't think this is unreasonable. Because of this I was forced to cancel the order making the customers order take even longer to get there. This manager needs some serious training. Iāve truly never encountered staff this rude or inconsiderate in any restaurant or store Iāve dealt with. I ordered delivery through their app, and when the food arrived, my sub was missing. I called the store to ask for a refund for just the missing subānot the whole orderābecause the rest of my family still wanted to eat, and I just needed to figure out something else for myself.
Instead of owning the mistake, I was blamed. They said the delivery driver tried calling and that āsomeone who didnāt speak English answered.ā I never received a call. Even if that happened, how is that my fault?
Then, I was told the only way to get a refund was to drive to the store and return the rest of the food. I explained that the entire reason I ordered delivery was so I wouldnāt have to go anywhere. Still, they gave me no option.
When I arrived at the store, I was met by the rudest employee Iāve ever dealt with in any customer service setting. I was treated like I was doing something wrong by simply asking for a refund for food I never received.
