Flame Broiler — Restaurant in Jacksonville

Don't order here if you are a vegan or vegetarian. They don't know how to cook their tofu. Bland, tasteless, spongy. I doubt they even used so much as salt to season it. I ordered through door dash, this was no fault of the driver but the restaurant itself. I ordered their tofu plate, white rice w/vegetables and another small veggie bowl w/ white rice. It was a good volume of food, the best bang for my buck. I'll give them that. They give decent proportions. But it was completely ruined by the fact that there was absolutely no seasoning whatsoever. Teriyaki? This restaurant doesn't know her apparently. If THAT was a proper teriyaki seasoning then I don't want it ever again. The "magic" and hot sauces are glorified syrup. I don't know how anyone else on this review page thinks they are good. It barely made the meal tolerable. I then thought, maybe I have a chance with the smaller bowl. Nope. It is literally pure steamed cabbage, some carrots, broccoli, with bland rice that is NOT EVEN SALTED. How am I supposed to eat that? I lacked the depth in understanding when black people said white people's food is bland as hell but now I've had a rude awakening. I cook rice and veggie based dishes better in my own home. I feel sorry for the people who eat here. Maybe getting a serving of animal based meat that is properly cooked and seasoned makes the food more tolerable, but it truly speaks volumes when you cannot even cook a plant based...

I ordered the half and half with brown rice. I got over cooked chicken that was dry and the rice was over cooked white rice. Of it was brown rice I would hate to get the white rice, it would be see through. For a plate of food to be $13+ there should be more and a better product. The magic cause is extremely salty so use caution when getting it, a little goes a long ways. The fruit you get is half an orange. The woman taking athe orders was very friendly and helpful, but when serving the plates she wasnt aware of what plate went to what person, there was 4 of use and we all placed our own separate orders. I went this week to try something different from Chipotle. The chicken is tasty but I just feel that I can cook it exactly Like them. There is nothing especial. It Comes with unseasoned rice and a very small salad of I do not know what it is but the sauce is very sweet with lots of sugar. Why would you do that to a salad? The ingredients in the salad probably the cheapest you can find. And they give you 1/4 of an orange. When I get the plate and I look at it, it just does not look good. It feels empty. It needs more colors, may be some tomatoes for the salad or cucumbers. And the rice need more stuff. That would justify the high price they put for a bowl. So it could not beat chipotle.
