My family and I visited this location for dinner tonight at approximately 9:40pm. For starters the name on our receipt is a females name and we were serviced by a male therefore I'm unable to list the young man's name who was at the drive thru. Nonetheless, our order was taken at the drive thru and our items were handed out to us. Upon tasting the sweet tea we noticed it was watery and asked the young man at the drive thru for a soda replacement. The young man turned and stated, "I'm busy now, and I have a line." He didn't state if we needed to wait or if he would get to us in a moment or anything. He continued to finish what he was doing and never turned back to the window to assist us. A young lady in the kitchen happened to walk by and we were able to get her attention and she quickly replaced our drink with no issue. The young man at the window never turned back around to assist us at anytime during this exchange. Upon leaving we counted that there were only (2) vehicles behind us. I understand busy times at work, as I have worked in many fast paced environments, however, the level of unprofessionalism and lack of accountability the young man showed at the drive thru was unacceptable and does not reflect the brand and service we are accustomed to getting at a Freddy's. We chose Freddy's tonight because we are visiting Jacksonville from out of town and our local Freddy's is always top notch in customer service. We expected the same tonight and unfortunately this was not our experience. We understand this is not a reflection on Freddy's as a whole but the actions of one individual person that chose to neglect his customer service responsibilities tonight. I do not wish this young man lose his job however a coaching on his job performance is...
Read moreI was excited to find a local frozen custard place, as I visit Culver's every time I head north to visit family. It's a mandatory part of the trip home, in my opinion. Freddy's frozen custard is smooth and creamy for sure. It seems to me to lack a little of the flavor that Culver's has, but the toppings were definitely richer and more full-bodied than Culver's. I had a turtle sundae, a favorite of mine, so a good point of comparison for me. The flavor of Freddy's sundae built with every bite, which was interesting and unexpected. While not Culver's, it certainly holds its own in the frozen custard department.
I was far less impressed with the burger and fries. The fries were basically shoestring potatoes before they became 100% crispy. Not easy to eat, due to their size. The burger patty was thin and charred. If it were thicker, the char taste might be offset by the thicker patty that could let the taste of the meat shine through. I ate it, but will try the fish sandwich next time.
The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was appealing in the New Jersey diner (I'm a native Jerseyian) sort of way. It was incredibly loud though, due to lack of sound-dampening materials as the intercom announcements every few seconds that the next order was ready to be picked up at the counter. Floors were clean and not sticky. Same was true for the tables and booths. I was impressed by that. I just wish they had menus to look at and figure out how the food options worked before getting up to the counter.
All in all, I like Freddy's. It won't replace my hometown destination of Culver's, but I will definitely return for the frozen custard. I can take or leave the single meal I had, but I will try it out a few more times to ensure it wasn't simply a bad night in...
Read moreOWNER, (edited/updated)... I iwll not upload a contact form for you to 'resolve' the situation. The only resolve is to have your alleged managers schedule and hold to the times in which they were posted. Retrain your staff.
I WILL NOT INPUT MY CONTACT INFORMATION KNOWING THAT BLOWBACK AND/OR RETALIATION AGAINST ANYONE MAY COME BACK TO HAUNT EVERYONE. I KNOW THE PROCESS.
Well, I will try to be nice and as 'transparent' as I can...But, I have never been good at that. So, here it goes.
Managers, when you schedule your employees, opening, morning, mid or closing, try to utilize your supposed educated business mind to schedule the right time. Do not have them write down their schedule to end at one time, and then take and extra hour before they walk out the door. It puts a burden you do this for a number of reasons, mainly: if they have a ride then it screws over any time line that may be after they get off work...Like, maybe another job because you do not pay enough. Or, maybe college classes that you may never of attended. Do not short change those around you just because you may have the power of being a 'manager', and have not figured out how to use it correctly. Figure your crap out, Jacksonville, NC. Everyone knows that your store is failing anyways. You are too expensive. It's only a matter of time.
I can tell you this, upon happening again, my daughter, son, nephew, cousin, auntie, uncle, he, she, we, they, them will leave at the time you scheduled, not when the work is done.
And fire them too for leaving at their scheduled time, unemployment benefits love to hear when an employee is fired for doing the right thing. Even in a 'don't have to give a reason...
