Wife's birthday means steak and lobster. Finding live lobster last second and on a Sunday isn't easy. Finding something interesting for the rest of the family isn't easy either.

Googled live lobster and found Jackie's. Bit of a drive for me. Ordered 5 low country boils (big portions!), 12 hushpuppies and 2 live lobsters for $105. Everything was delicious. I requested the cold low country boil (cooked and refrigerated) but I could have gotten them hot. They put the 5 low country boils in a big aluminum pan and added some buttery toping to the top. The hushpuppies were the only fried item, were crispy and delicious. Picked up some rib-eye steaks on the way home. Put the low country boil in the oven at 350 and got the steaks and lobsters done while it heated up. Soooooooooooo good!.

The ladies running the front counter made me feel welcome, were very nice and really funny. I left laughing.

The store was nice and clean and I didn't smell anything fishy.

One thing I would have done differently .... I didn't notice that the low country boil I ordered wasn't the version with snow crab.

After trying the hushpuppies I gotta go back for a...

This is the second time I’ve visited this establishment while visiting Jacksonville. The first time, they gave me the wrong order but we had left the area. The food was just okay. We decided to try them today since they fry fresh fish and had blue crabs. My husband decided to get the grouper, which is decently priced at $10.99 and I ordered a crab boil (4 blue crabs, 3 potatoes and corn) for $16.99. I thought it would be a whole crab but it was only the parts. We also ordered a 1/2 lb of shrimp for $8 with a $2 charge to cook. I remember when there wasn’t a fee to cook but this seems to be a normal practice at seafood markets now. The crab boil was very underwhelming. It had too much butter and bland. The crabs were dry and extremely small. My husband said the grouper was seasoned well but not the best he has had. Now let’s talk about the steamed shrimp. It was amazing. Steamed perfectly, great size and seasoned well. The shrimp was definitely...

First time going to Jackie's. I wanted Croaker fish and they were the only place I could find that had them and thought it would be a bonus not to have the "fried fish" after scent in the house by having it fried at the market. Service was fast and the place was clean and the prices were reasonable. I bought Croaker fish and had them season and fry(requested they fry the crust hard/crunchy). I also bought steamed green mussels with spicy butter seasoning. Well the croaker tasted fresh, but the crust was not at all crunchy as I requested and the spicy butter seasoning on the mussels not really spicy, just way too salty. I've had much better butter seasonings at other places in Jax. I will patronize them again, but next time I'll just purchase the seafood and...

I can’t visit Jacksonville without stopping by this spot. And the service is amazing because they stayed open for me. I was running late getting there and I told them I’m from Orlando and they said come on and we will serve you. Now that’s awesome. They always have a ton of fresh seafood and offered fried entrees as well as steamed. I recommend the blue crab, green mussels and shrimp. It can be served hot or cold. They drown it in butter sauces, garlic and seasoning. Simply delicious! You see exactly what you’re getting before they cook it because you pick it out of the glass case. They also sell fresh, raw seafood by the pound. Follow me on ig @sweet_maloy. Bottom line is I will definitely return!! #askSweet

Absolute disaster to order our fish. I wanted to buy a fresh snapper to take home to cook. Even though there were 5 left the guy said something non understandable that it’s not available. So we decided to take two brass home for at home cooking. I said it multiple times. He cooked it anyway. I asked another employee to help out since I could not understand what the guy said. They did not. We went home disappointed with 2 fries fishes which we really did not want.
