La Michoacana Taqueria — Restaurant in Jacksonville

An absolute gem! Tucked away in a strip mall off Beach Blvd, this place might not catch your eye from the outside — but step in, and it’s like walking into a vibrant, festive fiesta. Bright colors, upbeat vibe, and full of life.

The service was exceptional — even though they seemed understaffed, our waitress went above and beyond, checking in frequently with genuine warmth and a smile. You could tell she cared. Truly one of the best service experiences I’ve had in a taqueria.

We ordered the birria tacos and wow — cheesy, rich, packed with tender meat, and the dipping consommé was loaded with even more shredded birria. Pure flavor bomb. And the molcajete? Unreal. It came bubbling hot and overflowing with short rib, grilled chicken and beef, shrimp, fajita veggies, and yes — even hot dogs on top! All in a fiery, zesty broth. Said to serve two, but it could easily feed three. At $36, it's a steal.

Don't skip the horchata — smooth, cold, creamy, and just the right hit of cinnamon. Refreshing and not too sweet. So good.

This is the definition of a perfect hole-in-the-wall: humble from the outside, unforgettable on the inside. Can’t wait...

I don’t know what was more disappointing the food the service or the fact that I had to pay for this experience, me and my friends came here to eat Honestly we should’ve known the food wasn’t going to be good after we got our appetizer, we ordered an esquite and got more mayonnaise than corn, then we ordered a dozen oysters with spoiled ceviche, the shrimp was blackish and tomatoes looked old. We don’t ever complain and just eat our food but the service was very disappointing, after we informed the waitress she went and informed the employees in the kitchen and a employee came to our table (a very hostile man) asking what was wrong with the food we showed and explained the issue and instead of helping he implied we didn’t wanna pay for the food by pointing at the camera behind us, not only were we uncomfortable after the interaction with the employee but we had to wait 30 more minutes just to get our check even tho the restaurant was empty. The final insult the bill, we paid $130 for this experience and left the place hungry, angry and genuinely worried for anyone who thinks this...

I purchased two shrimp tacos, quesobirrias, and two pineapple sodas. I paid $36 in cash. That's where I messed up at dealing with nasty rude people. I should have used my card. Once my food came out I had three shrimps on my tacos, that's it. I asked for a refund because that little bit of food the price is just crazy. The nasty lady that took my order wouldn't give me a refund and started laughing. My daughter even asked if the lady could chop it up so it could look like something. She told me daughter she can give her a knife to do it herself while still laughing. The gnats started coming out my bag. I asked for a refund again because that's just nasty. The lady said she couldn't give me a refund since I touched the food which I did not. They have the cameras, rewind the cameras. I kept asking for a refund and the lady just kept laughing saying no.
