Ale House in general has gone downhill and this particular visit seemed no different.
Went to dinner for a family members birthday and we were joined with some friends. The server came back like every 15 seconds asking if we were ready. I appreciate attention but this was rushed. She proceeded to do as some servers do now[which I'll go into more]. Finally decided what we wanted and placed the order.
I placed an order for a Cesar salad to come out as my "appetizer". I was partially to blame because I was talking and forgot about it, but it ended up coming out with the food, which ended up being good because the food was not very good, and mine in particular was cold. This was surprising considering most of the staff was standing in the back by the bathrooms talking, so there should have been no reason for a delay, etc. I asked the server if she could heat my meal up bec it wasn't hot. Now it was warmer but hard. This is where the salad came into play - I ate my salad while waiting because I'm not sure why, but the recook took a bit. Again, everyone still had time to stand around and have a good time talking. We also had no drink refills, etc because she didn't come check. When she brought my food, filled the drinks, she literally did not come back till she came to see if we wanted the check.
I ended up just boxing the meal up and taking it home because the rest of my party was done. I feel like the server was more interested in having a good time with coworkers than she was taking care of her only table.
The restaurant had [maybe] 10 people in there at best on a Friday night and they honestly still didn't seem to care about those there. I didn't ask to speak with a manager to voice my concerns, but I'm surprised with the trouble we had, one didn't come over. Another member of our party ordered a steak, med-rare and was surprised that it was really under rare. I guess it's better than...
Read moreThis was the worst experience I've probably ever had at a restaurant. I ordered curbside because when I called, the automated system said to- go orders were not being taken and that I had to order on the website. I order on the website and follow the emailed instructions. I drive to the designated area and check in. I waited at least 25 minutes and nobody comes out with my order. I finally go inside to inquire. Hostess is busy chatting to patrons about how she's only been working there 2 weeks and doesn't want to be a waitress. I finally get her attention and explain that I've been waiting for curbside 25 minutes and she dismissively tells me everyone was probably just too busy to bring it to me and that I need to go to the to-go counter. The man behind the counter grabs my order. I ordered fish. It had been sitting room temperature on the counter for no less than 30 minutes at this point yet nobody could be bothered to bring it outside to me or let me know that curbside orders were pick up inside. I explained it was fish and certainly cold by now. He rolled his eyes and said, I could see if they could maybe remake it for you. I explained to him that I've already been waiting 30 minutes outside and don't have time to wait even longer. Zero concern or even an apology at the situation. He then offered a refund, which I had no other option but to accept. He gets who I assume is the manager. The manager doesn't even say a word to me about the incident. He opens the drawer and hands me money and walks off! I've never been treated so poorly at a restaurant. I've avoided this location for some time due to consistently inadequate service and rude staff. This is shocking behavior from a service driven business. I ended up wasting over an hour total and had to find...
Read moreA friend of mine was gathering a few of us together as a farewell to Florida and Miller’s was the choice of the evening. They called ahead to get clarity about party size, wait time, etc; we ended up waiting about an hour to seat 12 adults, a child and an infant because call ahead seating is not available. The manager was doing what we could to accommodate but bending the rules a touch to allow us to be remotely close to one another within social distancing regulations. It was a tight squeeze, but we managed to make it work. They unfortunately placed one server to our large party. I felt bad for all the running back and forth she was doing by herself to aid each and every one of us. You could tell she was starting to realize it was going to be tough just taking our drink order. From there it kind of went downhill. The first round of lemonades were watered down and the lemonade wasn’t the proper taste. My friend who’s gathering it was, was nearly half way through her beverage and found SOMEONE ELSES BEER BOTTLE CAP IN HER DRINK. No one was drinking a beer in our party. As we continued, we tried to hope the rest of the evening would smooth itself out. As the food at my table came it, it seemed as though every dish was missing something. Sautéed onions ON THREE STEAKS, sour cream for a baked potato, missing sauces, no garlic butter on any of the steaks. It just seemed like for some reason the stuff that makes the meal were left out leaving the meal feeling incomplete. We just were not pleased with this experience. We asked for extra chairs and never received them. It just was not a...
