PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE REVIEWS OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT! 1. They require that you pay as you go, so be prepared to order everything at once or to continually have your card swiped. 2. They are RESERVATION ONLY and yea, that includes the BAR! You must have a reservation prior to coming, they do not accommodate individuals or groups, even if they are not a full capacity. Also, you cannot order food at the bar if you reserve, only drinks. 3. Do not bring anything in your bag that can be smoked, that includes vapes and lighters, you will be turned around. Security is rude as well, so prepare yourself. 4. Pricing is moderate, and the venue is super spacious and very nice. They have brunch on Sundays with DJs and Host, as well as weekly events. 5. The food
(almost forgot about it) Food is “okay”, nothing stood out. Be careful consuming Oysters, they served the raw ones super warm and we ended up not eating them for fear that we would get sick. Menu is pretty inaccurate as well, so you will have to check with you waiter on EVERYTHING you see listed. Lastly, the SERVICE IS HORRIBLE! And not your normal horrible, the woman who is a owner/host of the restaurant intentionally tries to get under the patrons skin when they enter. My party had over 10 people and as each party member arrived, they all complained about her at the door giving them attitudes (same with me). She kicked out a group of people that were not causing any issues, and I assume it had to do with reservations. She also tried to kick our party out because after the 5th person arrived and complained about her mistreatment of the guest and attitude, her response was “I ain’t talking to hall and we can leave her place”. Whispers is on there umteenth location and is know for their violent past and shootings in the establishment, which also brings up a concern for safety. THIS PLACE IS NOT SAFE! To the owner/host that made a point to tell me in that everyone needs to learn how SHE does things, because she’s been doing it her way and it will never change. I hope you see this and know that I will be telling EVERYONE I know about your disgusting behavior and dictator like practices. It’s a restaurant not a SCHOOL! The power trip and ego have to GO! Hire some young, PRETTY and polite girls to work the door and sit yourself down ma’am if you can’t put your attitude to the back burner. Jacksonville, PLEASE don’t waste your time or money here, it is NOT worth it. There a ton of other BLACK OWNED places that provide a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone like the Daq Shack!

Let's go through this lackluster experience together! I went to Sunday Brunch at 1pm. Security checked my bag but not my person 😉 I sat at our reserved table and our server came over to let me know they are short on menus and the QR code doesn't work (this is a simple thing that takes no time to fix)đŸš©. Every order is closed out upon ordering, this is a bad business practice and disadvantages wait staff when it comes to tips (ask them they will tell you). It also discourages customers from ordering (aka spending money)đŸš©. I came because of the lamb chops on the flyer, so that's what I ordered. I was concerned when the waitress didn't ask "how do you want your lamb chops cooked? "đŸš© I asked her how are they prepared? and she very proudly said "Very well done"....đŸš©So I said no thank you I would like mine medium. I also ordered a margarita which came in a 4oz plastic cup đŸš©(it was good though). Our food came out (See pictures) plating was less than appetizing đŸš© The lamb chops are of the lowest quality and were smaller than the plastic fork that was placed in the plate (see photo) đŸš©That was the toughest most completely overcooked piece of meat I've ever been servedđŸ„ș the shrimp were not fresh and tiny (expected but not advertised as such)đŸš©. The bite of grits that I tasted was almost too salty. The whole thing was very "low vibrational" for $27.99đŸš© it had to go back! Because I went hungry I had to order something else. You can't possibly go wrong with lemon pepper wingsđŸš© they were barely okay! The half a cup of ranch and 2 packets of ketchup helped (that was sarcasm)đŸš©I order another drink because I noticed the ladies at a nearby table had a drink in a glass. Again the drink was good! Lastly we ordered a $50 hookah with 1 tubeđŸš© it took nearly an hour to get the coals right to eventually have a nice hookah (the flavor was good). My confidence was shook but I was going to try the oysters but they didn't have any đŸš©The venue/establishment has a beautiful aesthetic BUT honey for those prices you will need more than "pretty"......DJ was lit!

For some reason I want to like this place but they do not know how to do oysters it’s small, over cooked and just not pleasant. The drinks wings/fries are good. But if you are looking for top shelf liquor sometimes they don’t carry them at. Maybe they are trying to add to the liquor list to carry but there are some popular liquor that they do not carry for example “Hennessy” the music is a good vibe when they have a DJ. It’s a big space, but a little tucked away in a area of downtown that can easily be missed. Most locals enjoy this place for the ambiance and DJ and the happy hours but after the happy hour ends it gets super dead in here. Maybe it was this particular night on Sat but I never really seen a space clear out so fast. Regardless I won’t give up on this place because I never received bad customer service. Just avoid ordering the oysters and try some other things in the menu.

This was a horrible experience for me. I Called them twice to reserve and I was forwarded to vm and started texting me. Which was great on my end for proof. I asked the girl who was texting me name Briea. I asked her was there an event going on and about reserving a section. She skipped over the question about the event and sent me the information about reserving a table. The price they want for their bottles are insane. The cheapest thing was the 5th of grey goose. I chose the grey goose for $175. I told them 12 people and she confirmed. (EVEN THOUGH THE FULL PARTY DID NOT COME) I had 9 people in my section. As I get there, they didn’t have my name down as confirmed for the section. (I paid hours b4 I got there) then the manager (The Wife) said that it was $30 to get in. I didn’t understand how I already paid $175 already for my section. She explained to me that was only for the bottle to reserve the table. Which is insane to me. $30 per person. THEN, it wasn’t $30 exactly. They added taxes which came up to $33.75. Her husband came to let her know(the wife) my table was already paid for. She gave a lil attitude letting him know she has it handle. The wife (manager) of the sports bar was rude to the rest of my party. She asked how many ppl and I told her 12. She says well our table only sit 6-8 people. I said the young lady didn’t say that. Come to find out they had spots where they can sit 12 people but lucky for me only 9 showed up. As she walked us in to our section. There was no set section. We follow her around like little puppies while she find us a section. Why wasn’t my section already set and ready for my party to sit down. She tried to get other parties to give up their booth. Lol like no way you trying that. She finally gave us a booth right in the center (vip) but at first she wanted me to pay for another bottle to get that section. Poor business. I told her I wasn’t going to do that. She finally gave in and let us have the section. When we finally sat down. It took them 30mins to bring my reserved bottle. $50 for hookah. Like come on. I will not go back there. It’s very nice inside and some of the girls were nice but the owners have poor business and money hungry. I do not recommend no one to have a celebration there. OH! Khia the rapper was there. She was the event. She performed for 30mins and left and half of her songs were free...

I will not be returning to this establishment
Food was awful! Worse seafood I’ve ever had! And I told my server just that-and no manager came to speak to me. If you’re visiting from out of town and know good seafood-this place isn’t for you! I wanted to go to the kitchen and do it myself after wasting my money on this meal! First, we ordered an appetizer but it came out with our food and was room temp-Oyster Rockefeller with cheese melted on top- the whole slab of cheese came up on the fork like a pancake because it had obviously been sitting in the kitchen. The seafood bag tasted like it had also been back there sitting in the pot ALLLLLLL DAY! Shrimp were tough like steak, crab legs were over cooked and had no flavor, usually the corn, potato and sausage take on the flavor but there was NONE! And whatever kind of sausage that was-throw that in the 🚼 I nibbled off a piece and it made my stomach turn! Furthermore-if you’re trying to be a club, be a club
everybody can’t do both! So we sat at the bar and while trying to figure out what to order, we noticed the prices for those pre -mixed drinks and drinks overall are ridiculous-especially after hearing a gentleman to my left say that the drink was WAF, then a lady to my right got out of her seat and I heard her say that the liquor did not taste like what she asked for!👀 AND you have the nerve to serve in little plastic cups. Needless to say, this turned me off so I didn’t order a drink-also due to the fact that I saw the bartenders running their hands through their hair-right before you go scooping ice to make a drink?? I don’t think so! So I thought the safest thing to order was a beer-well AFTER getting the bartender’s attention, she overlooked me twice to go to someone else-the bar wasn’t even full-when she finally came to check on us, I said I don’t need a thing! I was ready to leave at that point anyway. At 10 after the DJ comes on, the music is soooo loud that you can’t hear yourself and you have to yell for your server to hear you-so why are you still taking food orders
there’s no conversations to be had at this point! Awful experience and a waste...
