Smallcakes Cupcakery and Creamery — Restaurant in Jacksonville

I ordered a custom cake for my 25th birthday just this month. The theme was SpongeBob and the flavor was cookie butter, my favorite flavor in the entire world.

Pros: The customer service was great and the decoration exceeded my expectations. I was so happy and excited about how it came out. I mostly just wanted it for the design I've been dreaming of this cake since I was 14 years old.

Cons: The flavor of the cake was not cookie butter, it tasted like regular vanilla (albeit a good vanilla). That's not a total problem since my family likes vanilla, but I wasn't able to eat more than a slice since I'm not a fan of vanilla at all. The icing was far too sweet for my taste but I normally just scrape icing off cake anyway. I guess I just expected something different.

Bottom line: I would definitely get another cake in the future if I wanted a very specific design. But for $70 I just feel a little bit disappointed because I wasn't able to...

Stopped in because I needed a sweet treat for myself and my kids and we were in the area. First, I didn’t realize Smallcakes had ice cream! Allyson had GREAT recommendations for each of us. The birthday cake ice cream was perfect for my daughter - best of both worlds. As we made it down the road in the sweltering summer heat she was so surprised it hadn’t completely melted. I unfortunately didn’t take pictures of the cupcakes - they were beautiful!! Next time though!! I’ll definitely come back. For myself and my oldest I went with a yummy Strawberry Cheesecake and my new favorite flavor: Cherry Bourbon. Y’all hit it out of the ballpark - so moist and flavorful. My first time visiting. The store was clean and cashier was knowledgeable and friendly. Cupcakes were displayed on cupcake stands with no covering over them which I thought was unhygienic. We bought a dozen different cupcakes for a birthday celebration. Cost was $44. I have to say it was hit or miss for flavor and freshness for many of them. The flavor on the almond cupcake with pearls was inedible as it had too much almond extract and tasted bitter with a bad aftertaste. The other cupcakes were just ok….
