Tequilas D’ Oro – A Standout Experience for Groups and Great Food Lovers Alike
We recently visited Tequilas D’ Oro for a family outing, and I can say without hesitation that it exceeded every expectation. We were a party of twelve—siblings, extended family, the whole crew—and from the moment we walked in, the experience was seamless. We were seated immediately at a large, well-placed table that allowed everyone to see each other and actually enjoy the conversation, which can be rare with large group dining.
The salsa bar and chips were a hit right out of the gate—fresh, flavorful, and a great lead-in to a round of appetizers that included queso flameado (flaming cheese), tableside guacamole, and of course, margaritas (which were strong, balanced, and dangerously good). Every bite was packed with flavor and felt like it was made with care.
The menu itself is exceptional—plenty of variety without being overwhelming. Between the twelve of us, we covered a wide range: enchiladas with rich chocolate mole sauce, fresh salads, burritos, and even a few seafood dishes. Not one person at the table was disappointed. Portions were generous, and the flavors were bold and authentic across the board.
What truly set this place apart, though, was the service. Our server Norma was absolutely fantastic—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Despite how busy the restaurant was, she and the supporting team (including the bar staff and tableside guac pros) managed to accommodate our large group with grace and efficiency. We never felt rushed or overlooked.
And the prices? Extremely reasonable—especially for the quality and portion sizes. This place feels like a hidden gem, nestled right between two other Mexican restaurants in the Tinseltown area—but let me be clear: Tequilas D’ Oro is head and shoulders above the others.
I highly recommend this restaurant—whether you’re going as a couple, a small group, or bringing the whole family. From food to service to ambiance, it was all outstanding. Give them a shot—I’m confident you’ll want...
Read moreOne of my new favorite Mexican places! WOW! Evrerything was great. We went on a Tuesday night (Taco Tuesday of course, but no tacos for us that night). We were treated so well.
What we loved: Table side guacamole about 2 in minutes after we arrived. Perfect! Very traditional and just right. Service - everyone was so nice. Not only our waiter checked on us but other staff members stopped by to make sure we had everything we needed. I had the Burrito de Birria. I'm picky about birria. This was no disappointment. The meat was extremely tender and the flavor was great. And the size - it was probably 14" in length. My friend had the Guanajuato burrito. It was full of steak and enough to share if you wanted to try. Atmosphere - they had a Mexican singer while we were there and he had a great voice. They have plenty of seating inside and outside. We can't wait until the weather is nice enough to sit outside. Salsa bar - you get a salsa with your chips, but there is an awesome salsa bar with at least six different types.
What we hated: We could not try more dishes! We were so full and took home half of our dishes for lunch the next day.
I can't wait for our next visit and look forward to trying more items on the menu. I'm not even sure they have Taco Tuesday but we...
Read moreWe recently dined at the new Mexican restaurant, Tequila D’Oro, located on Deerlake Court near Tinseltown. The owner mentioned that they are open only the past six days. We arrived around 5 PM and found a few patrons already there. We were seated near the Salsa Bar, which features six different salsas. As fans of spicy food, we tried the habanero and chili arbol salsas, and they were fantastic. My husband ordered a medium-sized margarita, which turned out to be enormous! We began our meal with the Queso Flamiado with chorizo, flambéed right at our table. The portion was generous, and the dish was delicious. We managed to eat about a third and took the rest home to save room for our entrees. My husband chose the Camarones a la Diabla, which he found flavorful and perfectly spicy. I opted for the Pollo con Mole, featuring sliced chicken breast smothered in mole sauce. I brought half of it home for lunch the next day. Our server, Paul, was attentive and checked on us regularly without being intrusive. He was very helpful in answering our questions. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and look forward to returning to try more items on the menu. It's a great place—definitely...
