i really didnt want to give this salon one star but i feel like i dont have a choice..i went in for a cut color style on the 17th because i was leaving town for the holidays the 19th. I chose this salon because of the great location, cute salon, and awesome reviews. I went in with my lonnnnnng hair ombre'd from last december, and just got a trim earlier this year, so my hair did need some TLC. i showed the first two pictures below explaining to elise (spelling?) that i absolutley HATE brassy/orange blonde. I stressed over and over how "box colored" that color looks to me and the two pictures below(left) were perfect examples of the color i wanted to leave with and the length of my hair. After we spoke about what i wanted Elise said lets get started, Its gonna look great etc. etc. Well once we got started i was feeling great about everything, the shop was awesome, everyone real friendly and so on.. well mid color another stylist comes up to Elise asking what she was using on my hair & this is when i started getting nervous, she replied by saying "well were out of like everything (V?)" so of course im feeling uneasy that whatever is proccessing in my head right now is just whatever they had laying around the salon... Not a great feeling. So once we proccess for a while ( no foils no heat ) we go to wash & rinse and once were through she literally sits down next to me as if shes going to break the news that my childhood pet has passed, and proceeds to say "it isnt exactly what we wanted". GREAT, why am i not surprised??? So she says in order to fix this, the price she quoted me before we started may go up a little bit so she can add a toner to "even out the color".. I am all about spending big money on my hair so that it is done well, and how i ask for it. So the $150 she quoted me was an AWESOME price to me so i didnt hesitate to say yes about the toner. she offered to let me look at it first and decide if i wanted to pay more to fix it but i said nope, if it is brassy i dont even want to see it just PLEASE FIX IT!! so once we tone and rinse again we go back to the chair for my cut. my hair cut was 100% the most satisfying part of my experience. The cut is PERFECT, she took off whatever dead ends I had without killing my length and the layers are perfect.. however even though my head is still wet i can see clear as day my hair is NOT the blonde I asked for by any means. The two pictures below on the right show the end result of my hair after the price was jacked up an addition $50 to "fix" the mess of blondes on my head. As you can see ive got PLENTY of the brass orange blonde that i hate so much and just a few strands of that beautiful light blonde i actually wanted.. So I leave the salon after 4 hours of my time wasted and my color ruined, and i call the salon back an hour later after i went home to style it myself to see if i could live with it. I actually got to speak to Elise herself and started by saying how amazing the hair cut was and how bad i felt for making this call to begin with. I told her that the color is just completely awful to me and it is pretty much exactly what i said i DIDNT want. She proceeds to say that "next time" we'll get where we want to be. She said my hair "just didnt take well". seriously? After i heard you say you dont have product to lift my hair to begin with????? I told her i know that i am not a stylist but I am 100% sure it can happen because i have sat in the chair with darker hair (my hair is dirty blonde/light brown to begin with) and left more blonde than what she was able to do.. After a minute or so i told her i just wanted to know what it would cost me to come in and lift to the blonde i already freakin paid for.. she seriously said $125.. after i spent $200 on my hair on top of a $20 tip she didnt cut me the slightest break for the mess up i didnt ask for. If from the begining she said "maybe we wont get to that color today" or "it might take a couple tries" i would have known to get up from the chair and go to another salon. worst color...
Read moreToday was my first time visiting Locks Myth Salon. I was appreciative that they were able to see me as soon as I called. Once I stepped in, I was greeted at the front desk with a friendly smile, and my stylist, Sami A., introduced herself & took me to her station. I was nervous at first, because it was my first time at this salon, but Sami was really friendly and listened to my wants/needs regarding my hair. I explained my hair was currently in an awkward growing out phase from a previous bob, but I wanted to grow the length out. I was relieved when she totally understood what I wanted, as she explained how she could shape it up while still maintaining maximum length. I appreciated how patient she was while thoroughly discussing my hair to make sure we were on the same page, before bringing me to the shampoo bowl. That totally eased my nerves and I knew I was in good hands. Sami cut my hair exactly how I wanted, and made it look better than ever!! :) I feel so good about the look, feel, and shape of my hair!! I’ll definitely come back for my haircuts! Thank you so much!
With that being said, I only gave 3/5 stars, because I also got my eyebrows waxed. During the process I told her my eyebrows are really light (natural redhead), and I asked if she can see them. She said she could, so I trusted her. After they were done and I looked in the mirror, I thought they were good, but I was mistaken, because of the dimmed lighting where I was seated (shampoo bowl area). When I left and eventually looked in the natural sunlight, I realized my left eyebrow is thinner than my right brow, and both brows have multiple noticeable stray hairs all around each “tail” of my brows. Tbh it doesn’t even look like I got them waxed, & I’m too nervous to go back & get them fixed, because I don’t want them to turn out worse than they already are &end up with my left side even more thinner than it...
Read moreI had scheduled an appointment with Kiki to get my hair done a Burgundy color. I naturally have brown hair and at the time I had blonde highlights that had grown out when I went in. Before she started on my hair I noticed an employee with the exact hair color I wanted which I pointed out to my hair stylist and we decided on doing a temporary color the first time so I could make sure I liked it before chosing to make it permanent. Kiki explained to me that they didn't carry the color brand that the other employee uses so they tried to match up colors with the brand they had. I ended up getting bright pink hair with purple underneath.. When I complained saying it's not what I asked for another employee, Carmen, made rude remarks towards me about asking Kiki to fix it. Well the way Kiki decided to fix it was by quickly throwing a dark red over the top of the pink and purple and she barely even let it sit on my hair for about ten minutes and charged me an extra $20 for having to fix her mistake. Well here I am a couple days later and the pink and purple are already showing through the red. Now I have to go spend more money at another salon to get it fixed. I've never had such a bad experience at a hair salon. Employees should never be rude like that towards a customer, especially a customer they weren't tending to in the first place. And I definitely shouldn't have been charged for a mistake the stylist made and she didn't even fix the mistake the way it should...
