8:30pm: Made reservations a week ago for this time and waited 15 minutes to be seated.
8:46pm: Our reservation for 25 was not met. We were sat at a table for 12. We were also sat under an AC vent that was leaking. Totally unacceptable under any circumstance.
9:00pm: We ordered drinks and afterwards water from the vent dropped in my fiance's eye. Water fell onto our menu's and water fell onto the paper covering the table. We requested that we be moved away from the vent and the owner came out to the table. The owner said "It's just water from the AC!" What kind of response is this. You already had us sitting here waiting for this absurd amount of time and you are willing to allow water to drip on us for the entirety of our stay!?!? We demanded to move the tables 10 feet to the left.
9:20pm: After moving our table the waiter finally brought everyone their drinks. People are still standing and being ignored by staff. Other people are being served and we are literally sitting and standing in a corner.
9:46pm: Our waiter has been very nice when he sparingly comes. Other tables have already eaten their food and waiting for checks. Our table is still waiting on chairs and waiting for our server to come get our order.
9:54pm: Our waiter is at our table getting our orders. We are patiently waiting as he struggles to get order from everyone. We still haven't seated everyone and some people have left.
10:00pm: Orders are in and we are currently waiting on our food. Again the waiter is very nice but it is a struggle to do simple tasks of taking orders and paying attention to your tables.
10:05pm: There's nothing like watching someone get brutally murdered on TV. I have no idea what we are looking at on TV right now. It is hard to miss since there are 6 50" TVs that are showing the same thing. I could've easily went to Publix to order a sub, eat it, and come back before our food was even ordered. This is total unprofessionalism. Some workers are sitting and talking
10:30pm: no food has been delivered yet. This is absolutely ridiculous.
10:34pm: Food has been delivered to 4 people. Some people have left the party.
10:42pm: Food has been delivered to 6 more people.
10:45pm: Food has been delivered to all people in the party.
11:00pm: The food is good. Cooked perfectly and seasoned the right way. We'll see if the owner will apologize for any of our inconvenience.
11:15pm: Check has come and is at full price. No discount. No apology.
11:25pm: Took ten minutes to run our cards. Took 2 hours to get a table and food, but only 30 minutes from the time we ordered to the time we got our checks. This restaurant is all about the money first. There is no communication between the owner and staff, no communication between the chef and waiters/waitresses, and definitely no customer service at all. I would never eat here again, EVER. This establishment is the worst restaurant in regards to service in the city of Jacksonville/Orange Park.
I usually don't write many reviews and am very careful about what I choose to say when I do. I don't understand the owner's motives but he lost 25 customers today. The food is great but the service is piss poor. 2 hours of wait time is extremely rude and unprofessional. Joe's crap shack is better, the other seafood restaurant in town is better, actually I rather go to captain D's than deal with this again. Also, it's been incredibly difficult not to curse or use foul language in this review.
TLDR: If you love good seafood and have no regard for customer service come here. If you would like to have 3 hours of life then go...
Read moreHello seafood lovers, it took me all of 30 minutes sitting in Juicy Crab on blanding Blvd, on 830pm on September 14. I recently had a birthday and my 2 cousins wanted to treat me to seafood and because I enjoy seafood so much they chose Juicy Crab, a place were I visited about 2 years before. I didn’t return to them due to Rocking Crab was easier to get to for me. Well as we entered, the place was noisy with loud jukebox playing hip hop music and I love hip hop music but not in a restaurant where you are trying to eat and enjoy conversation, the place is was loud as though I was in a club, the waiter we had wasn’t kind and he wasn’t trying to be attentive, he was young slender that wore glasses and although I am a black woman it’s not inappropriate to say he was black too. He took my order he forgot to ask what sides and he walked off quickly as to let us know he was too busy to make sure he had the complete order. He didn’t come back and he stayed away so I had to get walk and find him twice to let him know what I needed and when he heard me said I didn’t want a potato and wanted two pieces of corn he said okay but later brought me the potato anyway and a total of 4 corn on the cobs just for little old me. I asked him why, he replied I told you we cannot change out the potato for a corn so I told you you have to buy a side of corn. And FOR THR RECORD, I didn’t order 3 extra corns. Well my cousin told me to allow the mistake and let’s try to enjoy our evening. Even though we have to pay for the errors. No worries he won’t get a nice tip. He was rude and sarcastic and kept walking off and would t be attentive to refills or ask if we needed anything. But he did return to ask so we want a box after 10 minutes of eating, while we were still putting food in our mouths. He was not the worse waiter we had but he was the rudest waiter I have ever dealt with. We discussed we didn’t want anything further FEARING HE WOULD SPIT IN THE DRINKS!
we did have enough, tipped him 5$ just for bringing the food and by the way I didn’t ask for his name to print the review but he is the only slender guy that night that wore glasses so if you go there do not sit in his areas. Meanwhile after leaving the restaurant after just an hour and most of the time was spent waiting on him.
My review is, go somewhere else with your family. It does seem family oriented, it’s for people who are looking to go out for a good time with loud music and eating seafood with dinner. I didn’t get the feel it would be nice for children and the Dungeness crabs that I ordered tastes Like they were in the freezer for years and the butter garlic taste watered down and didn’t hide the bad taste of the crab. We don’t ask for a change because we were afraid of spit. And at the end of our dinner he brought us to go drinks and I left mine at the table fearing of THE SPIT!
I smiled each time he came and I smiled when he made the error and I smiled when he chose not to be nice. I felt telling manager wouldn’t have changed anything because I knew I WILL NEVER, EVER DARKEN THEIR DOORWAY!
Juicy Crab, management, if your business decreases you shouldn’t ask why, you should just close down, because you know it’s a restaurant and not a club and families prefer them to be separate places.
Goodbye and I will mourn the old Juicy Crab because it’s not the same place I...
Read moreI went to The Juicy Crab in Orange Park tonight to celebrate my moms birthday. The food was awesome, and the service was great!! I got the bill, and after they had run my credit card I saw it had an 18% “service charge.” I decided to ask our waitress if that was her tip (because I wanted to add to it because of the great service). She said no, it is split between her, the kitchen staff, the manager, and the cooks. I told her I wanted to leave her a tip, but I was not going to pay the 18% “service charge” and asked to speak with the manager. She directed me to the front desk, where I asked the lady working to remove the charge. She told me it is written on their menu that I have to pay an 18% service charge. I told her I want to tip my waitress, but I will not pay the “service charge” as it does not go to my waitress. She called the manager, who called the waitress over and started chewing her out in front of me and several other customers for telling customers about the “service charge.” This was horribly unprofessional and very embarrassing for the waitress. Additionally, if it is a legitimate charge, why chew the waitress out for telling a customer what they are paying for??? When he was done chewing her out, he came to me and told me I had no choice but to pay the “service charge” and if I didn’t pay it, he would call the police. He then asked me if I had been drinking (I had), as if that has ANY bearing on this situation. Very rude and condescending to say the least. So, I not only encouraged him to call the police, but I stayed near him, and told him if the dispatcher wanted any info from me, I would gladly give it (I gave my name, phone #, address, and vehicle description). I really did not think JSO would arrive before I left, but they did. After JSO talked with the manager, I asked to speak with the officer (when he came back out to the parking lot).
After hearing both sides of the story, and looking at my receipts, he had a good laugh.
He said he (and other officers) have been called to that restaurant MULTIPLE times a week for the EXACT same thing. THEY CALL THE POLICE WHEN YOU DISAGREE WITH THE BILL!
I had not caused a scene, I had not even raised my voice, but the cops were called because I had a dispute with my bill. In what world is that acceptable in ANY way from a customer service job???
Moral of the story; don’t eat there unless you want the police to be called on you if you disagree with the bill.
I have emailed their corporate offices in an attempt to speak with someone about this fiasco, but have yet to hear back. Seems customer service is not a priority anywhere in this organization.
The Juicy Crab will never get another dollar of my money until they make some...
