The Sheik Sandwiches and Subs — Restaurant in Jacksonville

HORRIBLE customer service from one of the employees. Its a shame for the other ladies working to have to apologize behind the extremely poor behavior and lack of manners. For record, I ordered 2 sausage biscuits and a sausage grit bowl. My fiance ordered a number two. The older woman taking our order was very nice but mistakenly put a number 3 into the system instead of a number 3. My fiance noticed and mentioned it but told them it looked good and that he was okay with what he was given. First mistake made. No offer to comp or anything for that matter. I then asked for some jelly for his meal, as I was still waiting for mine to come out. The lady working the front counter again, was kind and after asking me what kind I needed, was told by the extremely rude employee working the drive thru to "just give her one PLEASE!"..as if I had been needy or had caused her some sort of problem by asking. At this point I chose to let that go, thank the woman for the jelly and go back to wait on my food. Once I got my food I used one of my finances jellies for my first biscuit but realized I was given none and needed one for my next. I went and politely waited to be asked what I needed AFTER the lady working drive through saw me and threw her hands down and let out a loud enough "ugh" for me to hear from where I was instead of asking at that moment if I needed anything. When she finally did I told her that it was nothing urgent that I needed just one jelly of any flavor, as to make sure not to cause any added neediness by asking for a specific one, and that I could just wait until the lady working the front passed the jelly and made her way to take the order of the gentleman who was now waiting at the counter on someone to take his order. She responded by telling me that she would have to charge me, as I'd ready come up once and gotten jelly. I was so blown away I couldn't help but laugh and chose to opt out and walk away. My fiance however did not let this matter go and proceeded to the counter to ask the protocol for "free jelly". We were told by this rude woman that biscuits did not come with jelly.....I kid you not. And that we would have to pay for them. 20 cents each. Not to mention her dirty finger she waved and pointed in his face telling him she didn't appreciate his tone. For record he was extremely polite UNTIL she spoke to him as though he was lesser of a person than she herself and even then kept his cool. Never again. I almost forgot to mention hearing her trash talk other customers that had come through the drive through. Hate to give such a poor review and only one star because the food was good and the other 2 ladies were very polite and used good customer service skills and even went behind the woman being rude to us and apologized for her poor behavior. Worse sheik restaurant in Jacksonville…I normally go to the one on Atlantic blvd …I’ve known this family business for 30 years… first time I went to beach blvd was 4 months ago and ordered 5 meals in total, the lady at the drive thru was rude to begin because she said we close in 45 minutes so don’t expect everything on the menu to be available…fast forward 15 minute wait she gave me all 5 drinks food followed…but after getting home my receipt had 6 meals on it. I called back she said she would make me another meal the next day but not refund the money…( if I wanted 6 meals I would have ordered 6)

I felt I needed to give them another try people make mistakes….this time I order 3 meals and a single steak pita…apparently she remembered me from complaining before…she charged me for 4 meals and a pita but again only gave me drinks and fries for the 3 meals…I questioned it..she said if I can give you food but my managers not here so I can’t refund money….angry I left decided I will call Louie at the Atlantic store the next day (I mean after all this is his family business and reputation ) …needless to say on this visit I get home and no pita…I went back waited 15 minutes at drive thru (with no one there) and this is what I get ( see photo) mind you a steak pita should be steak and onions plus the extra I paid for American cheese…. Point of the review….avoid this restaurant at all cost!!!!!

Ps I did call the owner on Atlantic and got no where with that…so 30 year...

The burger and fries were prepared fresh. The meat tasted like real beef. The sandwich was hot and the lettuce and tomatoes were cold just like I prefer. As for the fries, because of health reasons I refused the extra seasoning so they weren't very memorable. But once I got home a little catsup and hot sauce and they were up to par. The cherry limeade was HUGE, HUGE!!!cold and tasty. We used the drive thru which was relatively fast even though our food was prepared fresh. I would recommend this particular Sheik for a tasty nice sized hamburger meal at a low cost. I could only finish half my burger. I'll confess the limeade was so good I filled up on my drink it was such a hot day and the cherry was the dominant taste in the cherry limeade. I've only been here once but I'd recommend this Sheik restaurant. I don't think all the Sheik restaurants are equal in quality food. I will surely go out of my way to this particular SHIEK when I'm craving a good burger and don't have 20$ that the higher end restaurants charge. And my waitress was smiling and friendly.
