I took down my 5☆ post from 5 years ago because fuji is not the same place as it was. Not even close. I went saturday 9/17/22 with some others for lunch Hibachi. We were seated at the grill instantly however that's where the issues began. We waited over 30 min to get a drink and appetizer order in. When the drinks arrived 5 min later he was prepared to take our orders. We'll come to find out low carb was not an option. I'll go into further detail. One person in our group watches the carb intake. So she asked about the sashimi options but was shot down being told it would be an hour before that would be available. So she had to get a sushi roll which were limited to the pre-pressed gas station style rolls. Because of the lunch menu. I felt bad for hyping this place up to her. Next was my niece who ordered some tea because you know the website highlights the extraordinary tea selection. FAIL no tea today! At this point I know what kind of joint we visited. However we carried on with what they actually offered. Now we wait for the grill to start growing food. It was a good 30 min before that happened. Oh never seen the wait staff so letting them know it was my gf's birthday had to wait till halfway through the meal. I told him. Well needless to say we were soon after presented with Togo boxes and bills. No birthday was observed. Not like past birthdays I have been to here at the Hibachi "formerly known as Fuji"
Suggestions to staff: Before someone sits down and you leave them for 30 min at a crack make sure they know your offerings are limited and any other changes that might affect their experience. So they can decide to go somewhere else. Also feel free to reimburse my card. I could have went to Sarku Japan in East Town and received a better service and price. I will not return. You should be ashamed of how you treat customers especially when they are willing to share their birthday at your place.
Ps raw fish shouldn't take that long to prepare I see Hyvee kicking it out with a quickness. Don't offer what you don't...
Read moreWe recently celebrated my friend's daughter's birthday at Fuji Steakhouse in Janesville, WI, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish!
From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff, who made us feel right at home. The ambiance of the restaurant is both elegant and inviting, with beautifully decorated interiors that set the stage for a memorable evening.
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the teppanyaki experience. Our skilled chef put on an incredible show, expertly preparing our meals with flair and precision right at our table. The kids were absolutely mesmerized by the chef's entertaining tricks and impressive knife skills, making the birthday girl feel extra special.
The menu at Fuji Steakhouse is extensive, offering a wide variety of delicious options. I opted for the filet mignon and shrimp combo, which was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. Each bite was tender and succulent, complemented perfectly by the accompanying fried rice and vegetables. The sushi lovers in our group were equally impressed with their selections, praising the freshness and artistry of the rolls.
For dessert, the restaurant went above and beyond to make the birthday celebration memorable. They surprised the birthday girl with a delightful dessert, complete with a candle and a rousing chorus of "Happy Birthday" from the staff. It was a wonderful touch that made the evening even more special.
Throughout the evening, the service was impeccable. Our server was attentive and accommodating, ensuring that everyone's needs were met and that the birthday girl had a truly unforgettable experience.
Overall, our dinner at Fuji Steakhouse was a resounding success. The combination of excellent food, entertaining teppanyaki performance, and outstanding service made it the perfect choice for a birthday celebration. I highly recommend Fuji Steakhouse in Janesville, WI, for anyone looking to enjoy a special meal with friends and family. We'll...
Read moreThis place has completely gone down hill the last few months. This USED to be our favorite go to place. We have spent MANY lunches and dinners there as well as birthdays, anniversaries, and Valentines days there. They have completely lost us as customers. The last couple times we went, we had such bad experiences that would take too much to type out. The second to last time we went, asked for a manager and there was not one to talk to so we talked to Ivan. He either did not understand the problem or didn't care. Did not offer to fix the problem. After that visit, we attempted to email them through their website in which we did not hear back even til this day well over a month later. I went in a week later hoping to talk to a manager and guess what? Still no manager to talk to. I talked to a lady there and Ivan came and assured me the problems were fixed. We reluctantly ate there that day as well. Food has gone down hill, service has gotten ridiculous, and nobody to complain to. Until the last 2 times, WE NEVER COMPLAINED! It is not like we are always going trying to get free or reduced meals. We have been eating there since it opened and they are not willing to attempt to fix problems. Obviously don't care about their customers. For as much as it costs to eat, we will not be going back...Only writing this to save others from wasting their money since the owners don't care to take care of the problems that they are having. Also while I am thinking about it the VERY last time we went, the people at the table with us also said they were not ever going back as they had several bad experiences as well in the last...
