GameStop — Local services in Janesville

The only frustrating part about this GameStop is that it’s located inside the mall, which doesn’t have the best hours, and sometimes the game selection is limited compared to other locations.

That said, unlike the other commenters, I’ve never had a bad experience with the staff. I usually encounter friendly, passionate staff who are excited to share their nerdy interests and hobbies with you.

GameStop as a corporation isn't perfect. For example, one thing I don’t love is that new games aren’t always kept in protective wrapping. New doesn't mean new condition. What they do well is what they have to offer gamers. I think the Pro Membership is worth it. You get $5 off each month, plus extra savings on games. The veterans discount is also a great perk for me personally. No one else in town does that. For me the pro's outweigh any cons, & I have reasons to keep visiting & buying.

While this is a chain, staffing matters. The mall in which this location can be found has more shuttered store fronts than open ones, but this location is still worth the trip. They almost always have in stock whatever I'm looking for, either new or pre-owned. If they don't, they immediately check surrounding stores to see if you can get it sent to them, it if you want to go for a drive and get it yourself they are happy to set it aside for you. While I can understand people's complaints about low trade-in offers, I'm a collector and rarely have cause to bring something in to them. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. They take the time to answer all of my sons questions while never making him feel rushed. We're always informed of any options available. We look forward to seeing staff members. The store has an amazing selection. If something is not in stock, they are willing to take the time to order for pickup from the store or delivery to your house. My son's pre-order list can be long. They always make sure it's placed for the correct system and inform him if there are various pre-order types for the games. (Standard, Deluxe, Ultimate...)
