China Wok — Restaurant in Jefferson City

Place is what you would expect of the typical "americanized" version of Chinese food. This food is not even cooked in China, but has to be made to appease the European idea of Chinese.

The restaurant is always dirty, tables always dirty with other stopped chinese all over it. My husband and I thought we found a good place about a year ago when we first came here. What the heck happened in a year to make you guys not care.

Honestly, watching the cooks eat while cooking our food was repugnant. Let alone how the man who delivered the food to our table was stopping food around in his mouth like a cow chewing on a cud, and watching the man who takes your order licking his mcdonalds sandwich was quite repulsive. People dont want to see this crap, its bad enough watching you lick a sandwich while we're trying to eat but to touch orders after not washing your hands is something else

Have marked yet another Chinese place off our list. Bye bye china wok!! If I wanted someone to eat over my food while being cooked... I'd stay home and cook myself. Wait..... I dont even do...

Immediately after ordering from China Wok today, we called to cancel our order, and even asked them if they had already started making it. The lady said "no", they hadn't started making it yet and were completely understanding about our order cancellation. We then went to Hibachi due to the bad weather, and it being closer to where we lived. We ate at the buffet and came home nearly an hour later, and we were home for about 10 minutes when a woman from China Wok knocked on our door. I said "Yes?" to which she proceeded to tell me she had our food from China Wok. We told her we had cancelled our order long ago, to which she responded "Nobody told me this". I told her I was sorry and she said nothing and walked away. About half an hour later, the restaurant called us, upset about us not paying for our order/ taking it. Clearly not our mistake, but their own. This was a failure of a display of the restaurants organization, and so much time and effort wasted on their ends. We will not be...

We always grab 2 orange chicken dinners from here because it’s so good we honestly can’t bring ourselves to trying anything else. There is always a ton of food in the containers and the rice is never dry or old, it’s always fluffy and still very hot.

We honestly don’t go anywhere else when friends or family come to town because this is the best Chinese food in JC by a long shot!!

PS the food is perfect for active gym/ athletic persons! You need a lot of protein and carbs to fuel muscle growth and energy?? These meals are packed with protein and carbs and you’ll be FULL — not hungry like you would at Panda Express or other big Asian-style...
