Our very first order was in early November. The Italian Beef Sandwich was outstanding!! The beef was sliced - not minced - like the local brand chain. The au jus sauce is seasoned perfectly, not too spicy. The green peppers are generous, too. The Di Vita's Special Pizza was okay, initially. The crust was overcooked and the cheese was too thick.
However, on today's order - 12/14/21 - we learned that there was a temporary cook when we ordered in November, which accounted for the average pizza. Today's pizza was excellent!!! The mushrooms and green peppers were copious. The Italian sausage and onions were just right for the large-size thin crust. The edges were very crispy, but not burned at all. The sauce is just right for the thin crust. Although the pizza was still hot, the bottom of the crust was a little soggy from the delivery process. However, we use our reheating method. Place some slices in a metal frying pan and cover the pan under low-heat for 4-5 minutes. Result: the crust is crispy once again and the cheese is melted perfectly. YUM!!! The Breaded Zucchini was hot and crispy, still. They were excellent along with the dipping sauce. Once again, the Italian Beef was excellent! The beef is plentiful and juicy. We ordered deluxe this time, with Crinkle Cut Fries and Coleslaw.
Lastly, Linda at the restaurant, is absolutely fantastic in hospitality and customer service! She is polite and accurate when reviewing your order. You definitely get the bang for your bucks from Di Vita's!!!. We will try their dinner specials in our future orders.

Read moreSomeone dropped off their menu at my job a few weeks back.
Decided to go through it and get to know their services.
It started off with their pizza and calamari.
For fried, wish it was a bit crispier to be honest.
Then next time I got the cheesy garlic bread and lemon pepper wings.
For the wings it would have been nicer if the breading outside the wing was more crispy / fried on.
Last image I tried their 1/4 cheeseburger w bacon, 2 1/4 patties with cheese, Gyro sandwich, And atomic wings.
Honestly the atomic wings were the star of the show. Cooked great and awesome for dipping. Not as spicy as one would expect, but can easily replace buffalo as a default.
The gyro could do with the sports pepper on the side or even without. No one usually gets sports peppers on gyro, so it was a surprise.
If they only added more gyro meat it would be a 5/5 for me. But my sides were touching and it was more a Greek tzatziki pita with onions than what i felt gyros in Chicago are. The burgers were affordable and tasty!
Just get the pickles on the side if you aren't a fan, because they stand out.
Over all I enjoy their service, prices, and options and will keep going through the menu to find the true hidden gems.
5/5 I recommend trying for...
Read moreWhen the owner of my former favorite pizza place died 3 years ago, I discovered DiVita and found that their pizza was superior to either of my three favorites of the previous 25 years. DiVita's toppings carefully walk that fine line between rich and delicate, the test every pizza must confront and conquer before it can be judged "excellent." Its crust is light and flavorful, as well. I give it 4 and 7/8 out of 5. (I had a 5 in Rome many years ago.)
On another note, I see that one of my fellow reviewers talks at great length about an unpleasant experience with some issue regarding parking at DiVita's. I think that review went far overboard and became downright intemperate. And I think I have a possible explanation for what happened to the person who wrote that review that prompted her disproportionate ire. On Belmont Avenue directly in front of DiVita's is a bus stop. This bus stop is in a position on the block where one would not expect to see a bus stop. The woman working at DiVita's who the reviewer complained about was probably very vehemently WARNING the customer not to park in the bus stop since she would get an expensive parking ticket. (I make this explanation since I attempted to park there the first time I went to DiVita's -- having failed to notice that it is a bus stop -- and a passerby gave me the same warning.)
