Well how do I begin as I am still in complete shock! My cousin, his wife, myself and another friend met here last night (Valentines Day). We immediately ordered an extra large pizza, sandwich and fries. When the wonderful waiter came with the pizza he immediately started apologizing for the “burnt” pizza. He said “I’m sorry you’ve had to wait so long and your Pizza is burnt” we all looked at it and agreed and my cousin told him we would not be eating the burnt pizza but they needed to bring him another one. Apparently the GM named Jim then came to our table to argue the pizza was not burnt it was only the cheese. We again stated that the Pizza was burnt and we should get what we ordered. He then stated (with a horrible tough man attitude) he would take it off our bill but “would not” be making us another pizza”!!!! At first we thought it was a bad joke but needless to say, he was being very serious!! I don’t know if GM Jim was having a bad day, but he was obviously ”Not“ going to take care of us customers. The waiter (who was amazing!!) came back to our table and deeply apologized and also stated he also got an ear full from GM Jim because “he should have never stated the Pizza was burnt”. The waiter immediately brought the sandwich for my cousin who had just taken his insulin and required to eat something pretty quickly so as not to get ill. We paid for the sandwich & beverages and gave the waiter his “entire “ tip which included for the pizza we never got to eat. This was an experience we will never forget and obviously a pizza place we will “never” step foot in ever again. We will also be contacting the Corporate Offices about this terrible experience. Read moreMy wife decided to get a head shaped pizza for v-day. At 7 pm the order is place and she was told an hours wait. I was out at my parent's house and would pick up the pizza. I show up at 8 pm and pay and I am told that it would be right out. I sit waiting, patiently, for almost an entire additional hour for my pizza. The cashier tells me another two minutes. Frustrated, I wait and after about five minute when the manager comes and says he can't locate my pizza, would I like a sausage with mushrooms. My wife doesn't like mushrooms and makes a disgusted face when I eat them. So I tell him I want the pizza that I ordered and want my money back. At this point a cook from the back with a smile asks how long did I wait? Which is simply infuriating, because clearly this is a joke to the people that are suppose to be in a service industry. The manager makes a last half-hearted attempt to replace the pizza, but at this point there is no fixing it his. The hosts/cashiers/phone order takers don't really care. The time I spent waiting I could over hear the conversations on the phone and other people have been waiting for there orders to be delivered for over two (2) hours. The last time I ate giordanos it wasn't anything special. This restaurant is close to my house so it's convenient. The pizza is certainly not worth a two hour plus wait. After leaving this place, I placed an order with Pete's Pzza #2 and got a heart shaped pizza. I remember the last I had giordanos, and it's ok pizza, but this giordanos needs to be avoided like you'll catch West Nile virus or zika virus. The customer service...
Read moreStay Away! Poor quality, customer service and attitude. We order from Giordanos quite often all over Chicago. We have always been treated with the respect and dignity one would expect from such a treasured Chicago staple. However, I was shocked and appalled with how i was treated over the phone after a recent order. Please read my review below and make your own decision. I plan to order where my family and I are treated professionally going forward.
We recently picked up an order for two pizzas. When we arrived home, we realized that one of the pizzas had spinach instead of pepperoni. We then attempted to call the facility several times with no success. The phone would ring with no answer.
We finally connected with the store an hour later. Instead of any attempt by the manager (Jim) to talk about the issue, offer an apology, or even wish us a Merry Christmas, he picked up the phone and accused me of lying. Jim stated that he "watched" the phones and they were "never busy." I don't have any problem with any establishment choosing not to make another pizza or make things right. However, I found it shocking and insulting that his primary argument was that the phones were not busy.
As a customer, I was frustrated by the pizza making mistake but I understand that they happen. As a human being, I was shocked at the blatant disrespect and unprofessional behavior for communicating my concern. It's fine to have poor quality, not fine to treat...
