I wanted to update my five star review review from two years ago and again give this wonderful restaurant five stars!. We have been to Nonno Pinos dozens and dozens of times over the past two years. During this pandemic we have done our best to support this wonderful and high quality locally-owned Independent Business in the heart of Edison Park. We ordered the "family of five" meal deal and our food was fantastic! #ShopLocal From 2018: Nonno Pino is an anchor to the wonderful downtown Edison Park Entertainment District. We were there on a Friday for a birthday celebration and our food was excellent and well prepared. David our server was charming, inviting, funny, and made our visit to this restaurant unforgettable. The drinks were excellent, our crab cakes and calabrese's salad more perfect and our entrees were served hot and fresh.

Meal was fantastic! That seems to be the formula for Nonno Pino's longevity. They are very consistent in all the times I've been there over the last 20 years (approximately in that range). All of the meals I've had have been well thought out, cooked and executed perfectly. Our waiter the other night was top notch. He was extremely friendly, very detailed, and had great knowledge of the Nonno menu. He took the time to explain, in detail, all dishes, specials, etc. Right from the start he was on his "A" game and set the tone for the meal. Most importantly kept that up through the whole meal. I will continue to frequent and recommend Nonno Pino's to family and friends. Price point is always within |reason too. (Sorry - no good pics)

While visiting Chicago, we discovered Nonno Pino’s through Google Reviews—and it absolutely lived up to the hype. We started with the Nonno Puffs, which were a delightful and flavorful appetizer. For our mains, we had the pistachio-crusted chicken and a seasonal special: butternut squash pasta in a rich bourbon and butter sauce. Both dishes were outstanding. We ended the meal with a classic cannoli—crisp, creamy, and the perfect sweet finish. The service was fantastic—warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout. Highly recommend this spot if you're in the area!

This restaurant failed by every metric. They ruined my last night with my family before traveling. The server was completely oblivious to what was going on at our table while numerous teenagers buzzed around filling our waters and bussing the table. The food was auctioned by the runner which sucks when the restaurant has zero noise baffling. The “medium rare” steak I was served was burned beyond well done and wholly inedible. The full plate of food was eventually bussed and not once did someone check back. The server seemed to be waiting on every table in the house and stopped by a total of 5 times from beginning to end. So now there’s a whole meal in a bus tub or garbage. $36 of my money burned and the food was gone. I would have had to convince a manager or our server that it couldn’t be eaten and that I barely touched it, if they came back long enough to hear it. I then payed full price for the food because it took so long for the server to come back and bring us the check that I didn’t have any more time to communicate the problem and wait for a resolution and clearly neither did she. As a diner who is coming from 15 years of service experience, I struggle with managing my expectations at most restaurants. This one was not on me. When a guest sends back an entire plate of food, a manager should be notified or at very least the server. I’m completely disappointed and no one at my table left happy or satisfied. Just frustration and upset tummies.

My spouse will leave their own review about the pasta. But I’ll say this. If you want fresh pasta, More Than Pasta up the road is the...

Bruscetta that tasted like Pico on burnt bread, table bread was a brick due to being kept in an oven at the server station, veggie side was raw, pizza was burnt & raw, marinara was just crushed tomatoes, lemon chicken was flavorless and had an unappealing boiled look, kids chicken tenders were just a piece of breaded chicken cutlet that was precooked then cut into strips and reheated. Being next to the kitchen, we could smell food being burnt regularly. Would not go back nor recommend this place. Gave the service a 1 because a server took a bowl of dressing that we finished from the table to the kitchen, refilled it, and gave us the same bowl and spoon back.

Update: Several members of our family got food poisoning from the fish. I'm not sure how this passed a heath inspection or is still in business. We got the feeling they reheat all of the food in a microwave based on how hot it was coming out. If you are on the fence about going here, run...

We went here for dinner as a group of 7. My wife and I were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. My son was celebrating his upcoming 40th birthday and my mom had just recently turned 91. We could not have had a better experience. Meg was our waitress and I cannot say enough good things about her. She was Extremely pleasant and managed our meal and entire dining experience with an attentiveness that I have rarely if ever experienced before. She was at our table multiple times (non-intrusively) making sure we had eveything we needed and when the food was served she was back making sure everyone received the correct plate. I just can't say enough about how Meg made our dining experience so much better. And speaking of food, it was excellent. The portions were substantial and everything tasted great. Overall I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a pleasant, well managed and...
