My wife and I visited Perfect Brunch Bros over the weekend, and we were absolutely blown away. This spot is a gem — not only because of the delicious food, but because of the heart and story behind it. The restaurant is run by two brothers from Guatemala, and their passion shines through in everything they do.
From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed. One of the brothers — the owner — personally greeted us with such warmth and kindness. That level of hospitality really stood out. And before he left, he even made sure to say goodbye to us — it made us feel truly seen and appreciated. Such a thoughtful touch!
The menu is a beautiful blend of traditional brunch favorites and dishes inspired by South and Central America — especially Guatemala. Some items were familiar, others were completely new to us — the kind you’d only get to try by actually visiting those countries. It’s rare to find such authentic and unique options in one place.
I had the shrimp and grits (phenomenal!) and my wife had the Queen’s Breakfast — both were unforgettable. We also had cappuccinos that we absolutely loved — smooth, rich, and served in the coolest cups ☕️. It’s the little details like that which elevate the whole experience.
They’ll be adding cocktails this summer 🍹, which just gives us one more reason to come back!
The vibe inside is cozy, fresh, and full of character — from the authentic tile floors to the natural sunlight and thoughtful layout, it truly feels like you’ve been transported to Guatemala or somewhere equally special.
They’re located right in Albany Park off the Kedzie train line 🚆. Whether you walk, bike, drive, or hop on the train, it’s easy to get to. And when you’re done with brunch, you’re in a vibrant area full of Mexican food, Mediterranean spots, Turkish coffee, and more — a neighborhood worth exploring.
They’ve been open for a year, and we’re so grateful to have them in our neighborhood. We wish them continued success and can’t wait to return and try more from the menu. Perfect Brunch Bros lives up to its name — truly perfect....
Read moreWe came to have breakfast here because the reviews were so good and the pictures of the food looked so delicious. I don’t know what happened, but that was not what we experienced. The quality of the food was not worth the $120 breakfast we paid for 2 adults and 2 toddlers. The services was good. Waitress was attentive, but the food was plain. To start my husband ordered a strawberry milkshake and It was so sugary and had some weird syrup that I’ve never tasted in a milkshake before. Our food came and the food was lukewarm like it was sitting for a while. My husband got the wrong food order but he just ate what we had because we already waited for it. He ordered breakfast tacos but got a burrito. My kids food had a square hash brown that was clearly a regular store bought frozen hash brown! Not even fresh! The eggs were scrabbled into so many pieces that it was hard for my kids to pick up with their fork. We also asked to supplement the pancake for a plain waffle and they charged us $4 more for each kids meal and the kids didn’t even get a full waffle! The halfed one waffle and gave each kids two pieces and charged us an additional $8. So each kids meal was $12 dollars. $12 dollars for each Kid meal and to have the hasbrown be a cheap frozen one just really set me off to write this review. When I saw the plate get put infront of my kids I immediately thought i could have made them a better breakfast. My omelette looked like it was made from powdered eggs and not fresh eggs the color and the texture was off. The omelet had no flavor. Then to top it off we got charged 120! That was insane. Who ever owns this restaurant please check with your cook. Whatever happened the day we came was not anywhere close to what the other reviewers...
Read more*served nuts after informing of allergy
I recently visited Brunch Bros for breakfast and was excited to try their French Toast Sampler. As someone with a nut allergy, I made sure to clearly communicate my dietary restrictions to our waitress: absolutely no nuts, coconut, or Nutella. There was a bit of confusion at first-she thought I wanted to add Nutella-but I reiterated that I was allergic, and she assured me she would speak with the kitchen. She later returned to let me know there was nutmeg in the French toast, which I confirmed was safe for me.
When the sampler arrived, it looked absolutely beautiful, and I was eager to dig in. The first flavor was delicious and I was enjoying myself, but things took a turn when I tried the second piece. After just one bite, I realized there was a nut in my mouth. I immediately stopped, had my brother check to confirm, and sure enough-it was a candied tree nut. I spit it out right away, deeply concerned about a possible reaction.
Given the seriousness of my allergy, we decided to close out our bill and leave, just in case my symptoms worsened. Although I ended up paying for the whole meal, I only took home the two pieces that appeared safe. The waitress apologized, explaining that there had been a language barrier with the chef, but honestly, that’s not a comforting excuse when it comes to food allergies.
Overall, while the food looked and tasted great at first, the lack of attention to my allergy made the experience stressful and unsafe. I appreciate the apology, but this kind of oversight is simply unacceptable. Until Brunch Bros improves their communication and allergy protocols, I can't recommend it to anyone...
