I feel bad writing a bad review because I used to frequent this restaurant (for its great food), and most workers there are good, hard-working people. However, tonight's experience was so atrocious that it compelled me to write a bad review for the first time in my life. Not being a native English speaker myself (now fluent), I am quite patient with those who struggle with the language, and I understand that miscommunications can happen. However, frowning at a customer or pointing toward the table with a finger (in a clearly annoyed manner, as if to get rid of the customer) is just unacceptable -- especially in a situation when the customer, if anything, would have expressed frustration over the fact that the waitress could not take one simple order that he always orders. Just as I feared, the wrong order came out (the tripe came out separately instead of being included in the pho). The "manager" (most likely just the supervisor at that time) passive-aggressively insisted that I needed to pay extra $2 for "my miscommunication" because the tripe was already served on the side (and frankly, I've always had just as much tripe before). Instead of getting a sincere apology for their mistake (and yes, I even explained how rude the other waitress was), I was penalized. I lost all appetite and barely ate my costlier meal. I normally express my opinion straight to people's face, but I did not want to make a scene over $2 (I'd already decided I'm never returning). They may have extracted 2 extra dollars from my pocket this one time, but they lost a loyal customer (and his friends) who would have paid hundreds more in the future. What a shame the lady "manager" had zero business ethics. Yes, the food is good, but I feel that the resulting over-competence is becoming their downfall. Unless they reevaluate their overall customer service, they may lose new & old customers. Again, I respect most workers there, and you (as a future customer), most likely (or hopefully), won't encounter terrible service. However, I write this review more as a wake-up call for the restaurant because whoever started this business probably put in a lot of effort to reach this level of success, and I sincerely don't wish it to...

Phở Năm Lúa, a restaurant I had once held high hopes for, has left me with mixed feelings due to the inconsistent coffee service I recently experienced. While I initially enjoyed their coffee, my recent visits have left me disheartened and doubtful of returning. Let me provide a detailed account of the issues encountered during my last two visits.

Yesterday, I eagerly ordered their coffee, hoping for the same enjoyable experience I had in the past. However, my excitement quickly faded when I received a cup filled to the brim with ice, resulting in only half a cup of actual coffee. Disappointed, I finished the beverage in just three gulps, leaving me unsatisfied and questioning the value of the purchase.

Hoping to give Phở Năm Lúa another chance, I returned today and specifically requested less ice in my coffee. Unfortunately, their response was underwhelming, as they served me a cup filled with less than half the desired amount. To make matters worse, when I politely asked for the cup to be filled to the top, my request was denied, leaving me feeling unheard and disregarded as a customer.

Regrettably, these repeated shortcomings in the coffee service have led me to the conclusion that Phở Năm Lúa may not be the establishment for me. It is disheartening to encounter such inconsistency and a lack of willingness to accommodate simple customer requests.

While I still appreciate the taste of their coffee, the disappointing portion sizes and the denial of my request to fill the cup to the top have eroded my trust in the overall experience. As a result, I am reluctant to continue patronizing Phở Năm Lúa in the future.

I sincerely hope that Phở Năm Lúa takes this feedback into consideration and addresses these issues to provide a more consistent and customer-focused coffee service. Improving portion sizes and ensuring that customer requests are accommodated would greatly enhance the overall dining experience. Until these changes are made, however, I will be exploring other options that prioritize customer satisfaction and...

My family and I have been coming for years but recently the experience left much to be desired.

We arrived lunch time during full house which was exciting for us to see. We sat down only to be left alone for 12 minutes waiting for a waitress or waiter to come take our order. Even the table who came after us ended up ordering and then receiving their food before us.

When we received our first dish the spring rolls, they looked tasty but was not filled with much of anything as we expected herbs and such. The wrapper was also tough seemingly left in the fridge.

Our Pho came out and we were happy to see the quantity of food even though it was a small. The broth itself was much sweeter than what we normally experienced. The tendons were tough and borderline inedible. Everything else was fine. We did enjoy the texture of the noodles because in other Viet restaurants, the noodles are usually overcooked.

The last dish that came out was the water spinach. The first few bites were fine but after the dish cooled, you could taste the sweetness in the sauce and we could barely eat half of it.

Price wise, it was okay with each bowl of noodles costing only $12 before tax. Spring rolls only 4.50, but the veggies were $15! Remember to go up to the cashier to pay because they won’t come to your table. In addition to that, when we attempted to pay, we were almost overcharged by $30. Luckily I checked the machine before tapping my card.

Also, be aware of the tipping. They have buttons and one is even set at 30%. If they had come over and asked how the food was or even bothered to offer water I would have considered.

Truly disappointed from our most recent experience and hope they get it together because we have had some nice times at this...
