Although the food is great here, the inconsistency of fulfilling orders is less than par. I have ordered on multiple occasions to only be delivered partial orders. Once contacted this final time, the receptionist stated that they, “Try to double check orders,” but more or less alluded to the fact that they are way too short staffed to handle the orders that come in. I realize, of course, that so many businesses are short staffed, but maybe they should not accept delivery orders then? Maybe they should not be open as long of hours to limit the demands? Maybe they should lessen their menu items so it is easier to get things correct? There are several options to make a restaurant work with limited labor. Simon Tacos had not figured it out. I was told they can not deliver the other items and can only issue refunds which really is not all that good of an option when you’ve got food for only a portion of the people expecting to eat the order. I was honestly so exited to find this place because it seemed like a small, family run, single location restaurant, but with repeated inaccurate orders and with no change in sight and minimal empathy expressed in the issues tonight, I will not be a...

The first time I tried this place when they first had opened I wasn’t really feeling it because they only had flour tortillas 🥴. The second time I went I liked it because they had the corn tortillas. After that I’ve gave it a couple more tries and the meat is either under cooked or over cooked. This one time I had asked for the meat well done and they over cooked it too much and some meat was burnt and hard to chew on. I also usually get my tacos with meat that’s filled with oil so my tacos turn out to be a bit soggy and with a lot of oil 😕. Their horchata isn’t good at all, tried it multiple times. I’ve worked at a Mexican restaurant before and this one time I bought an horchata from there, it tasted like the old horchata that didn’t work anymore. Their flan is very good, but cooks need to improve. And they need to make sure that the horchata is not more than 2 days old cuz after that it tastes disgusting.

edit: food has improved. It’s well cooked now and not filled with oil like before. Horchata...

I will start with saying it was my first time here. No warm welcome and me and my family were not sure if you sit and get waited on or order then sit. Nothing is marked and no one helped with this. I got up to order after sitting for 10 minutes and ordered. More info is needed on the menu as I had to ask what came on everything. Sat down had to get back up for chips. I will say the chips were some of the best I've had at a Mex place. Salsa is also great. Prices for what you get is a little outrageous. My wife has the steak fajitas which I was told the meat was made with veggies.. those said veggies were just onions the quality of meat used wasn't very good. No one asked how it was if we needed anything else or anything. The guy that we ordered food from was on his cell phone for most of the time we were there. We finished our food and threw our things away. No one said thank you have a good day/night. If you own a place and want people to come back be warm...

Disappointed! I've been a long-time customer at this restaurant because it's in my neighborhood and has always been a convenient go-to spot. Unfortunately, my recent experience was deeply disappointing. My order was made incorrectly, and when I called to address it, I was told the manager wasn't available. I called again later, and still—no manager. They took my name and assured me someone would call me back, but no one ever did. As a loyal customer who has supported this place for years, I expected better communication and accountability. Not only was my order wrong, but I also didn’t enjoy the food I ended up with—so it felt like a waste of money. After this experience and the lack of follow-up, I’ve decided I won’t be returning. It’s really unfortunate, but customer service matters, and this time, they let me down. Requested no onions on my tacos and burrito . Paid extra for cheese .

Wanted to try out a new taco place and I think I found my new favorite. The food tasted amazing when I ordered in and overall theme inside was very nice. The tacos i ate in were so good, oily a bit but doesn't bother me. The chips and salsa was also very good on their own and it was hard to not finish them all. The super burrito I got to go for a friend was a bit of a letdown. it seems like it was built as a layer of ingredients so it was a bunch of one stuff per bite, instead of together and the rice inside was a bit hard to chew, impling that it was either old or overcooked. My only single gripe thats not part of the review is that i kinda wish they had a fountain machine. Kinda wanted alot to drink with my order. haha! Coming back here soon!

Simòn Tacos is an excellent local taco restaurant in Chicago. They have a small parking lot and available street parking for easy access. The restaurant is clean and vibrant with murals on the walls. The service was great - the lady who took my order was very friendly and helpful. I got an order of both the Carne Asada and Al Pastor tacos which were both amazing. The meat in both was outstanding - very flavorful. High quality ingredients as well. The tortilla chips are great as well - hot and fresh - came with two different sauces which were both great too. They have a great selection of drinks. Bathroom was clean. They had a great mix of music playing in the restaurant - great vibe. Overall it’s a great local taco spot in Chicago.
