super cute Donut shop with artistic and fanciful donut creations. While you can get your basics here, they are also always trying new ideas and looking to elevate the pastries with favors like Ube or Matcha

It also has a fun Anime / kawaii and street art theme going on and you see a little bit of East Asian influence and the flavors.

In addition to donuts I have to call out their savory pastries. I actually like these even more than the donuts. I actually like these even more than the donuts. they have really great leek and cheese, ham and cheese, and spinach and cheese pastries.

They have a number of fancy mixed coffee and matcha drinks and creations.

staff is always very nice.

you do end up paying for all the "extra" - donuts and drinks are not cheap, so I love what i get there but don't bring home a...

Oh. My. God. And sweet, round-shaped, 6" diameter baby Jesus. I am terrified that I have found such luxury donuts this close to home.

We discovered this just today and it was incredible. The selection and creativity of the donuts is great. You will smile just before you eat it. And then you will giggle after you do.

They also have savory donuts and fritters. I will definitely try those on the next go. Also, a great selection of local coffees.

Not a lot of room for sitting inside except for the window. But that's okay. I imagine they are making room for the queues to get these scrumptious little things. And they keep things moving, too. On a Saturday mid-morning they helped about three or four parties in front of me efficiently and patiently.

Will be...

I had been wanting to come to this donut shop since it opened in my neighborhood and finally decided to bring my son. It was such a disappointment. Came in at the wrong time (1 pm). They only had about a handful flavors left. None which my son wanted which was Sprinkles. He loves sprinkled donuts. Gave a low rating due to flavor and customer service. Donuts we got were bland and hard. Red velvet, blueberry, cherry and a plain donut with chocolate dip and heart shaped candy was what we got. Definitely overpriced for $16.99 half dozen.

Young lady at the counter did not greet us so I greeted her first. She did not smile once even though I smiled at her a few times while we chose what we wanted. It was all a very...

After my eye check-ip across the street, I stopped by to get coffee. I was pleasantly surprised to see ube donut . I of coutse had to get it as well as raspberry bismark, chocolate frosted bavarian cream and leek and parmesan pastry. They were all delicious, dough was soft and pillowy, the filling is not overly sweet. BTW, they have matcha-filled donuts as well for the matchaddicts. Even the leek parmesan pastry is on point. The coffee, big shoulders, I later learned is also a Chicago-local brand. It's deep and robust, just the way I like it with my sweets. I'm blessed to have this bakery in the neighborhood and glad to see them thrive. I should go more often ;)

Somethin’ Sweet Donuts is a fantastic immigrant-owned business to support and an essential stop for anyone in Albany Park. Fresh & well-made donuts - the matcha and Ube donuts are especially great flavors to try, and they don’t skimp on the filling! The new location on Montrose is a gorgeous space, full of thoughtful decor and family photos. Their coffee is also 10/10 - so citrus-y and balanced. It’s sourced from Big Shoulders, a woman-owned coffee supplier in Chicago, so you can support two great businesses at once. They’re also nut-free - great for folks with nut allergies. Can’t recc this place enough!

They have the best donuts in town! The staff is so kind and friendly here so if you feel like they aren't being nice to you, look inward because the only explanation in that instance is that you are a jerk. In addition to the donuts (which are all great!) I recommend trying 'somethin' savory' like a spinach and feta croissant as well! They hit the spot. The best donuts in my opinion are the Matcha Filled and the Apple Fritter. The coffee here is from the world famous (at least around the neighborhood) Bru Coffeeworks so grab yourself a cup of that too. So thankful these folks are in the neighborhood!
