I’m so torn about this place. We came on a Friday dinner and it was $21-$22 each person with tax.
For that cost (which is a premium cost for buffet), you are losing out on your money. There were only 3 islands with the main entrees:
Pizza (which tasted sweet), fried fish, cheese mussels, fried soft shell crabs, chicken nuggets, fries, fried rice, white rice, fried chicken wings, chinese noodles, baked salmon, 2 types of soups, pork ribs (which were not tender), beef stew (not tender), shrimp in chicken ball, orange chicken, meats with brocolli, green beans, fried shrimp, breaded shrimp, kropek (which was stale), a tray with an attempt to look like a crab boil but the taste was not tasting so that wasn’t that great of a deal. I also don’t understand why there was no crab legs.
Then they had a small station for sushi and another for dessert. I enjoyed the cheesy mussels the most. But for $20+ that’s too expensive.
The positive things during our visit was that the food was hot/warm, and the taste isn’t bad except for some meats that were tough.
They definitely need to work on their pricing to reflect the smaller items they offer, because the buffet in Harlem and Irving have over 1,000 items and their price is...
Read moreLet’s start with the good. Service was nice, staff was friendly and responsive. Food selection was reasonable. Nice atmosphere besides it being empty and they could have played the music a touch louder. Now to the bad. The food is not good. It was cold, hard, and overall unappealing. I didn’t know a cucucumber could be rubbery and dry until I tried the slices of “fresh” cucumber on the buffet. The rangoons were wontons that had about 1 tsp of filling, the chicken was rubbery over all, the sushi was okay I suppose. Similar to jewel at 9pm sushi (which is fine for a buffet. Nothing spectacular nothing disgusting if you love sushi it will be fine). Not to mention there were a few things I grabbed and after tasting once had to immediately spit out or take long drinks of water to get down.
Over all the service is nice, their selection is good, I like the atmosphere, and the self service drinks/ice cream is super nice! It’s the food that is just terrible. I’d love to go back on a busy day during rush to see if it was just that I went at 4pm on a Tuesday. I’m hoping it’s better but I’m willing to give it one more try as the food seemed like it was really good about...
Read moreIf you’re coming for crab legs, they don’t serve them anytime before 3(per worker) For two people it was $31 @1PM It was not that bad, a small selection but overall most of the food was tasty.
There seemed to be a lot of chicken options which the proteins were good. The lo mein noodles however, were not good, tasted oily and not a lot of flavor. The rice was pretty good, the crab Rangoons was decent but the pizza and Mac and cheese should be avoided... the onion rings were not good either. There isn’t a lot of options for kids if you’re planning on bringing them along. The fruit looked dry so we didn’t grab any. The fried fish was good only bc it was meaty… there was ZERO flavor at all to the fried fish… how… why. I was so disappointed, but I added sauce to it and it was bearable.
And yes, they do have an ice...
