We stopped into Beano’s Pizza and Bar in Louisville for dinner recently and had a pretty solid experience overall. The atmosphere inside is really nice—clean, casual, and inviting with a laid-back vibe that makes it a great place to hang out for a meal or drinks. It’s the kind of spot you could easily settle into for a relaxed evening.
The food was definitely a highlight. The pizza was pretty good—crispy crust, flavorful sauce, my only complaint about the pizza was that we ordered extra pepperoni, and you can clearly see in the pictures that if that's extra pepperoni, I hate to see what regular pepperoni is. It wasn’t the best pizza we’ve ever had, but it certainly hit the spot and was fresh and well-made.
What really stood out, though, were the breadsticks. They were excellent—soft, warm, and seasoned just right. They could easily be a meal on their own.
However, the one thing that kept this from being a 5-star review was the lack of cheese sauce for the breadsticks. Marinara is fine, but we were really hoping for a spicy cheese sauce option to kick it up a notch. Unfortunately, that wasn’t available, which was a bit of a letdown for us.
Aside from that, service was friendly, and they make a really good drink. The bar menu had some solid options, and the cocktails were well-crafted—not watered down like you find at some places.
Overall, Beano’s is a good local spot worth visiting. We’ll definitely be back, but we’ll still be hoping they add some cheese dip to the menu. That small addition would take their appetizers to...
Read moreAfter being sat, my wife and I waited patiently and thirsty for what seemed to be at least 15mins. At that point my wife stopped a guy who had walked by several times and even smiled at us. She asked if he could let our sever know we were here. He looked down and said that's me. Ok, whatever not the end of the world. He got our food and drink orders at that time. Our stuffed mushrooms came out way under cooked. It was like someone threw barely melt cheese on them. We sent them back. The pizza came out and it was good to be honest. What wasn't good is that our server didn't speak to us after taking our order. We had to send the mushrooms back with another server. Our server never asked how things were, never offered us refills, and didn't give us extra napkins though we had a 1yr old with us. I really like Bearnos, but I will not be back to this location again. This was our 2nd gar experience at this location. The manager never checked on us either after we sent back...
Read moreI have come to this location on an almost weekly basis for YEARS.
They are typically wonderful with service and their food.
Since last month, their service has changed for the worst.
Today, I called to place a carryout order and was denied the opportunity to pay the advertised the price listed on their website.
Last month, my daughter ordered 2 pizzas from them. They delivered the wrong pizzas and when she called them to request that they send the correct pizzas, they told her that she would have to pay $15 delivery fee in order for them to bring replacements to her, which she lives maybe 5 minutes away from them.
I'm not sure if they are under new management or something, but they have gone down in service and I'm so very disappointed about this because they've been so great over the years.
At this point, I'll take my...
