Drake's Hurstbourne — Restaurant in Jeffersontown

2 stars for the food because it was good -3 stars because the service was terrible. The server we had needs additional training or to be moved to a new position. We sat for 8-10 minutes before even being acknowledged while multiple servers and managers stood around by the back bar. When our server did finally come over, we placed our drink order as well as our dinner order since we had already decided what we wanted to eat. Our food was brought out about 10 minutes later and Kaitlyn asked if we needed anything else. Yeah, our drinks. Never brought us our drinks, waters and 2 alcoholic beverages which sat at the bar for assuming 10 minutes getting warm. She never once came to ask us how our meal was I’m sure out of embarrassment for forgetting our drinks. She then brings us our check and of course, it’s the wrong check! They were not busy. She had a section of maybe 5-6 tables and they were not all seated. I watched another unfortunate guest get sat in her section 20 minutes after we did and they ended up telling another server they hadn’t yet been helped. I watched that server walk over to a manger, tell them this table hadn’t yet been helped, and the manager said “oh, well she’s right over there” and points to where she is. Insane. As a manger they should have walked over, apologized, and made sure she got to them promptly. Multiple managers and servers were hanging out in the back bar area the whole time we were there. As someone who worked in a restaurant for 10 years I get not being on it all the time but there was no reason for the level of bad service I...

So...started out really bad.. After 15 minutes, there was no waitress, no nothing at 1:30 pm on Saturday, June 10th, and not busy at all. I give the specific date and time because for the life of me, i can't remember the manager's name. A manager ( young, male) showed up at the booth next to us... apparently it went really bad there... We caught his attention and he was very apologetic. Apparently a waitress decided not to do her job at all..not that he shared anything.. points there. We just gathered that from the lack of service and table next to us.

But, we told him we needed to leave due to other plans. He asked if we'd give him the opportunity to make it right. We did. And he did. Food came in record time, I had the chicken caprese salad, which was excellent. My niece had the slider burgers, salad, and side of roasted veggies, and it too was record time, and she was very pleased with it.

Manager ( can't remember his name) checked on us several times, even once a new waitress took over the area. She must've been called in, because we were close to done.

As we were finishing, the manager came over again. Thanked us for allowing him to make it right and gave us 2 $15 gift certificates. Not necessary but was appreciated.

We were glad we gave them a chance food was good, reason priced and big portions. It was my first time, but my niece had been there several times and was surprised by what happened with the service.

Drakes did good in the end, when it counted. A new one has opened up in Clarksville, we're going to...

I was really disappointed. We had a drink while waiting for our food, we got 4 entrees to go and a kids meal. Our server acted like she was 10 deep and complained the entire time about how everyone had been cut and now she was left to deal with all the tables. I was a server for YEARS. Closing was the easiest cake walk of making money known to man. I always wanted to close. You make good money and everyone you work with has to do all the grunt work for you. Not to mention the late night tables normally tip really freaking well and more than half the time it was friends in the service industry. She only had 3 other tables. My advice, is to stop complaining to your guests. We don't give a s*@&! I never get to go out because of my kids and I wanted to have a drink and enjoy myself not stress out because you're unhappy. Then when we got home, our entire food order (that she repeated to us) wasn't even what we ordered! I ordered the bacon cheese burger with an egg...I received 3 sliders with only cheese. 🙄 My husband ordered the fish sandwich, those also came as sliders. If that's how they are served then say that. I don't want all that bread really... My friend ordered Fish Tacos... They were horrible. And the only thing that was screwed up was my littles chicken tender kids meal. Except the sprite was horrible and tasted moldy. Like the lines needed to be flushed. Anyways... Drake's needs to get it together and work a little harder on their late menu and food. It's awful!
