My family has loved eating at Longhorn for many years. The atmosphere is excellent, and the food has always been great But our last visit was unenjoyable. I will say that we were seated quickly and our waitress came over almost immediately to take our drinks order, which was excellent. After deciding what we wanted, we placed our order, and our salads came. Our drinks order was incorrect as well as one of the salads. It was a busy night, so we knew that the waitress was trying to handle many tables. And we asked that our drinks be corrected as well as the salad, and we let it go. We had only had our salads for a very short time, and then our food was brought to the table Before we were finished with our salads. We do understand it was a very busy night. And while we do appreciate getting our food quickly. It was a very short time between the time We received our salads and the time we received our food. We also enjoy the fresh warm bread that is brought to the table when you arrive but our bread was brought after our food was brought. Again We accepted this because of the business of the night in the restaurant. One of the dinner orders was incorrect. But at that point, we chose not to say anything as we had already had to ask for corrections before. And we're disappointed in the service and didn't want to delay our dinner. The last few times we have visited Longhorn, the steaks have been very, very salty. Again, we did not mention this. As it would have resulted in waiting longer for our food and as patrons of restaurants. We typically do not like to complain. Or ask for corrections repeatedly as we do appreciate how hard the weight staff and the cooking staff work. But due to the last few experiences, I know that we won't be visiting Longhorn for a while. In today's economy, going to dinner can be a great expense. And it is a treat when we get to do so. Perhaps we've visited on very busy nights. And perhaps longhorn is experiencing low staff issues like many other places. But I still want to post this review in hopes that corrections can be made as we have always loved Longhorn, and we'll visit again one day. Feedback is important if you want to make corrections in your business so that patrons will visit again. We did feel like that because it was a very busy night. Things were rushed to move the table's quicker. This is not the dinner experience that people want when visiting a nice restaurant.Longhorn is not a fast food restaurant. We want to enjoy the atmosphere and the good food at a...
Read moreAs any proper Louisville resident, I'm not a huge fan of chain restaurants. There are just too many local options that blow things like Red Lobster, Bonefish, and even Jeff Ruby's way out of the water.
This cannot be said for the Hurstbourne location Longhorn. We ended up here as a total fluke one time and Andre took care of us so well that it's a regular stop for us now. If you're reading this, you should go give him some of your money. He won't let you regret it ;)
The important info for travelers and newbies:
*Consistency: You know what you're getting every time. You're not going to be able to tell who's back there making it from day to day. *Service: Even when they're busy, the manager walks the floor touching tables to ensure her people aren't overwhelmed. She's a hoot, too. Personality is not in short supply here. *Atmosphere: Pretty sure nobody actually likes country music but it's very clean and that's enough for me. Lobby, dining room, bar, and bathrooms are all in top condition. Medium noise level: it's not Texas Roadhouse but it's not a library either.
My older kid had a birthday dinner the other night and wanted to eat there. Taylor - guessing on spelling, sorry if I goofed - took care of my party of nine like we were the only ones in her section at 7pm on any given night near I-64 & Hurstbourne.
Narrator: They obviously weren't.
No mistakes, no empty drinks, no food sent back, no forgotten requests, it was spectacular. THEN... sweet Taylor snuck back and brought out a beautiful little strawberry shortcake setup she had personally decorated for my kid. She and even the manager cut up with us throughout the evening and the whole thing was honestly just perfect. We fall in love more every time that we go, and it's so weird to say that about a chain. I figured it was time to go ahead and write up the review they deserved months ago. Whatever they're doing in there, it's working. Every one of those employees needs a raise, including the spunky little MoD for that night (11/23).
Thank you for making my kid so happy that she had to nab a hug, Taylor. It may not have been much to you, but it was all you nonetheless, and I hope that makes you...
Read moreMy father in law passed away so we had family in town. My mother in law called at 1 .p.m. for reservations for 6 p.m. No one told her that they didn’t take reservations anymore. They took her name and everything. We get there and they told us it would be a 45 minute wait and they didn’t hold us a spot. We started to leave and they said they worked it out. A hour later still no table. Being from the service industry I know the restaurant can’t ask anyone to leave. There was a table who paid their bill at 6:15 and who was still there. My husband was going to be nice and ask the family if it was going to be awhile so we could just make other plans, tell them we had family in for a funeral. More than likely they would have been polite and answered one way or the other. The host literally wanted to start a fight with my husband and told him he couldn’t go talk to the family. He wasn’t asking them to leave. My morher in law is 78 years old and we had already waited an hour at this point. If the family would have said yes and that they had more stuff to do for their party, we would have just left. We were a party of 17, so we could only sit in one area. That’s why we called at 1 p.m. to make sure they could accommodate us. The host seriously acted like he wanted to be in a street fight. One of our favorite restaurants, but if you are looking for a professional and classy environment, don’t go here. You might as well go to Applebee’s. My husband didn’t even walk to the table, he only said something about it and that’s when the host went off on him. My husband was talking to another family member about what we needed to do, since this had already been a long weekend and most of us was exhausted. I can’t believe how the atmosphere is going down so bad. My husband asked for a manager before the incident. The host was rude with us from the beginning about our table not...
