Guys, Woke up this morning and my four year old had a meltdown about going to preschool and didn’t want me to go to work or make any money apparently, so he told me he hated me and that he needed a new mommy (Even though I make the money for our family or two.) We apologized to each other in the car, but I still wanted to redeem myself and help put the morning in the past, so I picked him up and headed to Krispy Kreme in hopes of reconciliation. We pulled into the drive and my sweet, sweet boy was thanking me over and over (I don’t blame him for not wanting to go to school, I get it. He’s not a total brat.) I order 2 glazed chocolate iced doughnuts with sprinkles, two traditional cakes (long day, so I thought, hell, I deserve it), a lemonade for him (weird, but whatever) and doughnut holes. After awkward communication errors (I didn’t think I was slurring my speech), there were no traditional cake. Mmkay, I’ll deal. Compromised, got glazed instead. Pull up to the window. No lemonade. Mmkay. Forget the lemonade, he will live. Just gimme those chocolate glazed sprinkles and I’ll be in the clear. After taking a wrong turn, (thanks Google) and returning home after the longest wait of my 4 year olds life, we open the box and, of course, glazed chocolate donuts lay before me..... WITHOUT SPRINKLES. All I wanted to do was redeem my superhero mom status and failed. Hearts were shattered, lives destroyed and tears filled my precious kiddos eyes as he said, “It’s okay mommy, we will try again tomorrow.” But we won’t, because if this were to happen again, I’d have to get a sitter and go to therapy and wonder where I’ve gone wrong in life.
Guys, this is some life changing work you’re doing. Thank you for handing my “freshly baked” donuts with a smile, but please remember the tiny hearts that depend on the sprinkles and the moms who are just trying to have one night without tears (from either party). Get. It. Together.
Yours, A Mom Hanging on...
Read moreThis location use to be 5 star....not the case anymore. First and foremost, First and foremost, I'd like to say krispy kreme donuts have been a favorite of mine since I was a kid with my parents and that tradition has transition with me and my family and my children. Several times in the past 4 months I have showed up to enter the facility to only read a note on the door that states drive thru only except door dashers and pick up orders are allowed inside due the short staff. Disappointing that only certain customers are permitted to enter the facility. I simply leave due to the aggravation of not getting to let my kids pick out there donuts which is always been a treat to do. Not to mention from the door my kids see the glass case full of donuts. Also always enjoyed sitting inside and enjoying a fresh warm glazed donut with cold milk. The lobby at this location has plenty of lobby seating. This is the only location in southern Indiana 30 mile radius. It is a family outing for us not a run to the drive thru. We find ourselves visiting the other two local donut shops that entertain the lobby being open and able to have great donuts and an experience. Hope the lobby opens soon, if not then that will be unfortunate. I'm only one customer with 3 kids, I have 5 siblings my self with families and the Krispy Kreme lobby in there area is open which is across the Ohio River in Kentucky with several locations but like I said only one in...
Read moreMost of the donuts were great! The store was really clean and the employees were very nice. The strawberry iced with sprinkles and the original kreme were both FANTASTIC both days I went. There were some down sides though.
Unfortunately, my favorite donut (chocolate iced with kreme inside) was pretty hard and dry on both days i got it. I also asked for a boston cream the second day and they gave me a chocolate iced kreme donut instead. The way they handled the donuts wasn't very good either. They were kinda rough with them and just grabbed them all sloppy with their fingers (with gloves on though of course), and it caused there to be actual smears shaped like fingers where the icing was. Plus, she didn't put them in the box very nicely. The chocolate and the strawberry were getting all over each other, so that was pretty disappointing.
There were also a couple donuts i got that i just didn't like, but i didn't know if I was able to do anything about it so i just threw them away (it was the cherry pie type one and the other one was boston pie or something. chocolate iced, dollop of kreme on top, and chocolate in...
