UPDATE:
I gave Miller's Ale House an exceptionally poor review earlier this year (read below), however, tonight, on the way home, I decided to give them another chance and was thoroughly impressed.
We ordered the crabs, salmon, and 35 fried shrimp. The service this time was excellent, the food was very tasty, and my kids and I left very satisfied. I think our original experience was all due to one terrible server (who we did not see tonight) We will be back, and i recommend giving this place a shot.
----break--- Original review below
Long story, so bear with me. This was some of the worst service I've ever experienced.
My family and I just left the Ale House. They were busy when we arrived, between 6:30 - 7 PM, and that happens. Not factoring that into the review at all. We waited about 20 min to be seated, and that is when our problems started.
After sitting down we waited over 25 min before our server ever stopped by our table. We tried to waive her down several times and, it seemed like she was purposely avoiding eye contact.
Initially, we gave her the benefit of the doubt. They were busy, and maybe she was working multiple sections... Watching though, that was not the case. She was only serving the 10-12 tables in out immediate area, and just was not present like the servers in the other sections.
When she finally did come by, we ordered a motzeralla stick appatizer, two cocktails and a wine. The drinks and app took a little bit, bit i'll attribute that to them just being busy.
While waiting on our food, my two children finished their drinks and we had to hunt down our never present server to ask for waters. They never came.
When the food finally came we had several issuws. First, we asked about the kids water (which she told us she forgot). Next, my step fathers meal was wrong (he ordered naked wings, sauces on the side, was given hot wings). The server initially acted like there was no issue with the order, but then relented that she knew it was wrong and would have it fixed.
With that, we ordered another wine for my mother and beers for my step dad and I. The wine and water came out, but no signs of the beers, my step dad's wings, or our server to ask a status.
Over 30 min later, she brought the wings out, but no beers. The rest of the table was about done with their food. When asked, she told us she forgot to put the beer order in. It took another 15 min to recieve our 2nd drink of the night.
As the night was winding down, and I was finishing my beer. I decided to order a second. We flagged down the server, placed the order, prompt disappeared, and I never reckeved the beer.
Another 30+ min later, my family had it. We were done. They were getting up to leave and i told them i'd stay to settle up. This apparently prompted our server to reappear. I told her to cancel the beer inhad ordered and give us the check.. which she promptly handed me and explained "I must have forgotten or not heard". She said "I should retire because of just have no memory".. wasn't wrong, not the job for her.
Now for the icing on the crap sandwich we were served (instead of cake). She charged us for the extra plate of wings (the ones that came out wrong), and 3 glasses of wine (of which we only had 2)... and when I pointed it out, she didn't apologize, she seemed annoyed that she had charged us for an extra $30 of food she had gotten wrong or we had NOT ordered or had. Again, no apology. Even when she brough the correction, there was no itemized check to show the corrections had been made..
The food wasn't bad. Really not a bad place to eat. The service on the other had was the slowest, rudest I've ever seen. Who goes to a bar and has a problem getting 2 drinks in over 2 hours?!

Read moreMy first visit. Very busy place and typically overpriced, as most restaurants near the beach in Central FL, are. It was quite noisy and again, cold. The nights are cooling down here now. Days are sometimes 80's but it's usually 70's day and 60's-50's at night, but the A/C was blowing the whole meal. I had the Mahi Mahi tacos, which were were very good. Fish was warm, tasted fresh( cannot say if it freshly caught or frozen and waitress didn't say) Portion size was good. 3 full soft tacos made with a kind of cole slaw that was different but good. Guacamole was $2 xtra( I don't like that in a restaurant that charges $17 for fish tacos, so I passed. Glad i did ( I love Guacamole) b/c the filling really wasn't typical, and although very good, imo, not a good call with guac, although waitress offered it, but it just doesn't go with mayo. The tacos, I assumed were flour so i didn't eat them, as I eat as little gluten, as I can. The small amt of broccoli that came on the side was overcooked and looked brown in places, like it could be old, but it was had spices added, so hard to tell if that what had darkened it. I thought everyone stopped eating soft broccoli but there you have it. These fish tacos were very good for a restaurant that specializes more in typical Baby Boomer diet. Prime Rib was the special. Steak & Ribs mainly. Some shrimp & a few fish dishes. My friend had a steak and it looked ok but it was sonewhat overcookeded, but getting a med rare steak in a restaurant is hard nowadays b/c busy restaurants can't keep steaks in a walk in during a rush and they can be exposed for hours. The more it's cooked, the less likely anyone is, to get sick. When I ate meat I like my steaks almost rare but they always came med to med well and, imo, the longer steak is cooked, the more the flavor diminishes. Couldn't tell if his small amt of mashed potatoes were powdered but they looked it. To repeat myself sides were small. Service was OK but waitress was busy and had to be flagged down. She did take a minute to say goodbye. The place has been successful for years, so I'm assuming all of the food was good. It's called an ale house and may have specialty beers but I don't think I saw a bar and we weren't drinking alcohol, so beer could be another draw. Would def recommend the Mahi Mahi tacos minus the guac. They are topped with "beefsteak"...
Read more11/23: well I belive they have changed theor artichoke spinach dip supplier, bc for the 2nd time we've ordered, it was gross. It was dry, flavor not as good...before it was hands down the best cheesy and great taste. Now looks like it was left out over night or re- cooked. My rib eye had ro be returned 2x. 1st x, the steak was, idk how to explain it, it wS gray in color (okay i can deal, maybe not seared), but when I cut into it the steak was like 4 shades of color, weird looking. It was gross. The waitress brought it back bc she too found it odd and gross. This time when they brought a new steak was literally half fat and well done and the broccoli was now yellow and as mushy as bash potatoes. Super disappointing. At this point I was pretty much done but the waitress came by again also seen the situation with the steak so she brought the manager over I was reluctant to have anything since the fact of my other members of my group were pretty much done eating the manager insisted on redoing the food So he brought me a different type of steak. This time around the steak was cooked perfectly the broccoli was green and fresh.... But what a disappointing meal and since the fact I haven't gone out to eat for a couple of months And this was a celebration dinner it made the situation all the more disappointing. I don't know where the blame would be on the the cook or the Expediter but either way, but bad plates of food Should never have made it out to the tables. there's definitely a weakness somewhere... And I am Normally a big fan of ale I used to visit once a week. But this experience was far from 5 star. Bad spinach and artichoke dip and to return plates of food. The waitress and the manager handled the situation well, But all the same, The sum of it was a bad experience.
Still a great place to dine...food is good, atmosphere good (even though they did not show ufc), prices are fair.
Truly great service tonight, waitress was hands down the best in...
