Great Steak — Restaurant in Jersey City

This is my first time here. I will start by saying I had my meal, then I read some of the past reviews. Now I'm writing my review. To start I read the menu and took my time to choose what I wanted. I decided on the Ultimate Chicken Cheese Steak Sandwich and I made it a combo. Then I placed my order, there was a little trouble there, one person started to take my order but then passed it on to another employee to finish it. All the ingredients are listed on the menu and I said I want it just as it is written on the menu, apparently there isn't a button for that because he kept asking me what I want on it. Ok, so I told him everything that it said. I got my food fairly fast, I was happy with that. Things may have changed here with the bread because I thought it was a big Sandwich, heavy, filled with meat and I am a big guy and can eat a lot. I liked the flavor and amount of food for the price. I did open the sandwich and thought they forgot the Lettuce and tomatoes but they did not, it was just not a lot and the heat from the meat shrunk it. Not a big deal, didn't really need it anyway. I did notice there was no spinach in the Sandwich like it was listed to have on the menu. So I looked at the receipt and saw it wasn't on the list of stuff in the Sandwich. So I spoke to the manager and he said they don't have spinach as the menu says. He apologized, and I also pointed out I was charged 99 cents for cheddar cheese and the menu says it included in the Sandwich for 10.99 the manager then said he would give me back the .99 cents. I said he can keep it as a tip, but I also said the menu should be more accurate. He smiled, I smiled 😊 I'm writing all this because the stars on this establishment is very wrong, this place should have at least 3 to 4 stars on Google. I give it 4 🌟 and with a little work on employees and menu could at least be a strong 4! I would eat here again, next time I'll try the Cheese Steak Sandwich, and let you know how it was. Oh and I forgot the Frys were good, Steak Frys cut. I like them like that. If you like them crispy you may want to ask them to do them well done, but I liked them as they were. Last comment the soda machine didn't have any diet options, I thought that was strange 🤔 I suggest more people try this place and give it a fair review. A lot of people say go to Stadium Pizza, I think because it's been there a long time, it's good if you want more options in this outdoor mall but would not be my go to for a Philly Style Cheese sandwich, definitely not. This place is much better! Enjoy this place and you can get some Cold Stone too if you really want to pack on some calories 😋 I'll add pictures when I get home I couldn't finish it, I was stuffed after eating half with all the frys...

The staff needs a retraining on the menu and an attitude adjustment. I ordered an Original Philly, which comes with Philly cheese (cheez whiz) and grilled onions. While waiting, I saw the cook putting provolone on my sub and I mentioned to her that it comes with Philly cheese, not provolone. She then proceeded to give me major attitude and condescendingly told me that all steaks come with provolone and that if I wanted Philly cheese I should have said so when I placed the order. 🙄 I didn't feel like arguing and just took the sandwich as is, but the menu clearly states the type of cheese that's on each sandwich which is why I chose the sandwich that DIDN'T have provolone. First impressions are everything and I definitely won't be coming back here if management thinks it's acceptable that the cook makes the sandwiches according to her own personal preference and not what's stated...

This was the WORSE steak sandwich I've ever bought cause after 3 bites I threw it away. The sandwich was basically steakums on a large hot dog bun. The meat tasted like it was freezer burned. There was enough grease to oil the engine in my car. I was so disappointed with this sandwich. The french fries were just as bad...soggy grease filled and nasty. Even the soda tasted like seltzer water. I suggest that the entire staff be retrained on how to cook a cheese steak. Total disappointment...never again. If I could this negative stars I would.
