John & Mr. B's Kitchen — Restaurant in Jersey City

We went down to the city for a couple days from the capitol region, and the first morning we went to a place called Tommy's, and that was excellent, and we were thinking about going back there but we decided to try another mom and pop place and we chose this one. We were a little surprised when we sat down and we got plastic ware and paper cups, but then we realized that John probably doesn't have a dishwasher and so it's just easier for him to deal with those products than it is to deal with actual glasses and silverware. No harm no foul. The next thing he brought to the table was ketchup and Sriracha, so I didn't have to ask for hot sauce, and in my book that's a plus. I got a Greek omelette, hash browns and toast, my sister got a steak omelette grits and coffee. Everything was excellent. Well prepared very large portions very reasonable prices. If you're ever in the area and want a nice breakfast, and I'm sure their lunches and dinners are just the same, I highly recommend John's...

I do not have enough words to describe this awesome little gem. They delievered through the pandemic, even without the grub hubs etc. The food is soooo delicious, check out the tilapia florentine or antipasti platter picture for example, it is fresh, homemade taste, portions are great, (teenage son agrees big time) absolutely reasonable prices for the amount of food and today, one of the owners(I guess the B partner,Bishoy) went above and beyond to deliever my order after they closed because one driver was out!!!! Walk up 4th floor!!! Personally!!! Who does that in these times?? I am so blessed and grateful to have discovered this place over a year ago, no comparison to all the other places around. I've ordered the pomedoro before and everytime it was AMAZING EXCEPT THIS LAST ORDER! I recieved over boiled pasta, watered down, bland, barely tomato sauce, and that's it! No fresh Mozzarella, no basil, or any other kind of herb or spice. Not even salt! I've ordered the dish twice before so I know how it is prepared when executed well. But this time they REALLY MISSED THE MARK. I don't know if it was a new person or someone who really wanted to go home early made this order but, my 9yr old could of made the same thing...
