Ordered delivery from here last night, The Joliet location. The food was horrible!!! Which we were surprised because had pretty decent reviews & my boyfriend has eaten here, said it was pretty good. Well after we received our order and opened our containers. We were shocked to see every single piece of Avocado on our tacos had sections of black, yes black! I call to let them know because they charge $1.50 per order. Gentleman asks would you like to come pick some up. Seriously? His attitude was he didn't care. I then told him I would leave a review with the pictures I took. Again really didn't seem like he cared. Then I get a call back, from a young lady, who tells me I should take it up with the delivery service, our food sat under their lamps for an hour before it was picked up to be delivered. I was in disbelief, our food sat for an hour and you still sent it out? I've worked in the restaurant business for may years, and that right there is beyond negligent. You are putting your customers at risk allowing food to go out after sitting for an hour, food starts to die and can start forming bacteria after 20mins, and can double after 40mins. Knowing this and having had to follow FDA guidelines I knew we needed to toss the food immediately! What little we did taste before that call, Not sure how you can mess up tacos but the meat tasted like it had been microwaved, Avocado slices had black, not good at all, you can not eat an Avocado that looks like that, it's rotten. The fries for the kids where hard, so hard, like stale. My 5 year old asked, why are these so hard? So I grabbed one fry to try and they were hard. Like they sat out all day hard. I told both to stop eating them. My poor kids couldn't even eat their food. I'm not going to risk the health of my family. This restaurant should be ashamed!!!! We will NEVER eat here again. Wish there was an option for zero stars! Please be very careful eating here. They truly need a revisit on guidelines! The health department should really visit this place and re-educate the staff..They are going to get...

Came here today because the Plainfield location was closed for the day, and I don’t think I’ll ever be back. First, the food is not as good as the Plainfield location, this place has a more Americanized Mexican food taste. Second, the service is EXTREMELY slow. Right as I walk in I have a seat and the lady at the front just stares at us, doesn’t even greet us, then takes forever to come over and ask us for our drink order. I still wasn’t bothered at this point because I’ve been here twice before and it’s always the same server, same attitude. My biggest complaint, though, is the server was SHADY when it came time to pay our bill. We do not come here often, so we were not aware of the automatic 18% gratuity charged for parties of 5+ people. This is not an issue for us, but we would like to know about it before adding our regular 20% tip. The real issue is that my table was 2 adults, 2 kids (6 and 4 yr olds) and a 10 month old baby. My 6 and 4 yr old were served, food and a drink, but my baby WAS NOT. I gave her a few bites from my plate, she was not served anything, so the server had nothing to do with her. My husband didn’t notice the automatic gratuity on our bill before he paid, so total this server took a 38% tip. All for terrible service. After she left our food she never came back to our table once. I needed a spoon and had to get up and ask the cashier for one because the server was nowhere to be seen. Then, my child wanted another taco and after trying to wave her down several times finally just got up and ordered it with the cashier. I left here feeling robbed and like the server wanted to make sure she got her tip from us because she thought we were cheap and weren’t going to tip her or something. This is extremely...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at El Molcajete a vibrant Mexican restaurant in Joliet by JJC. I haven’t been here in over a year! 🌮

So I had to take the opportunity to order their new Frito Burrito with Carne de Pastor. Oh boy 😥 this dish was a true delight! The tender marinated pork was bursting with authentic Mexican flavors and combination of Fritos added a satisfying crunch. It was a explosion of savory goodness wrapped in a warm strong flour tortilla…no DRIP 💧

The trio of sauces that accompanied the meal was a true highlight. The taste reminded me of their original recipe from their Plainfield location. Each sauce offered a unique twist and complemented the burrito 🌯 perfectly.

To quench my thirst I opted for the refreshing Horchata. I was disappointed that free refills were not offered. While this did not overshadow the overall experience it would have been a welcome addition to ensure a continuous indulgence in their delightful beverages. 🥤

Especially when your eating their chips with each sauce offering a unique twist from tangy salsa verde to the spicy yet flavorful red salsa. 💃🏽

Despite the minor set back the staff were very friendly attentive and BUSY! 📈

If your in Joliet and craving Mexican cuisine that will transport your taste buds I highly recommend El Mocajete. Give their Frito Burrito a try just remember to order a refillable beverage if your planning to quench your thirst all night long. Buen...

OWNER PLEASE READ THIS: First off.. The food is delicious and im not gonna knock it because i enjoyed it. Unfortunately the older lady with the horrible looking eyebrows was extremely rude.I had simply asked for a spicy michelada (clamato beer drink) and i asked if she can add some mix rather than hot sauce to balance the taste:. She immediately got defensive and told me off and said that shes not gonna do it because i asked for it spicy… THE DRINK WAS LITERALLY 2/3 HOT SAUCE!!! Unfortunately we wont be coming back because of that lady.. she should find a different job that doesn’t require talking to people. It sucks they automatically charge their gratuity because she didn’t deserve a single dollar!
