Candlewood Suites & Holiday Inn - Joliet, IL - Rock Run Convention Center Tucked behind the Candlewood Suites and the Holiday Inn is the Rock Run Convention Center. The Rock Run Convention Center consist of a variety of rooms with various sizes that you can rent out for events. Since the convention center is attached to the two hotels it makes booking this facility a win win. I always thought that Joliet sounded a lot like Juliet, but I never the true meaning behind the name. Joliet in fact used to be named Juliet and was inspired by the Shakespears character. Juliet along with Romeo, Illinois, which is 20 minutes north was planned as a romantic twin city. At a later time Juliet was renamed to Joliet in honor of the famous explorer Louis Jolliet and Romeo shortly changed it’s name to Romeoville. The rooms available to rent are cleverly named the Capulet & Juliet Rooms, the Romeo Room, the Hamlet & MacBeth Rooms, the Montague & the Othello Rooms.
