After traveling all day from our visit to children's mercy in kansas city, exhausted n hungry, I called for a room. Mercedes answered the phone n when I asked about room availability n mentioned the above info. She didn't even ask for my info. Just told me to go ahead n eat n that she would hold a room. This was such a welcome from the usual ,'Give me ur card number n if u don't come ur paying for the room anyway' attitude. Then when we arrived she gave us such a warm welcome n a good rate. Then the next am (as a earlier review mentioned there was some construction on the front entrance, really other a big issue, it didn't affect the rooms etc.) We were sleeping in due to our lab arrival but the maintenance man came to the door n very nicely asked to inspect lights in the bathroom. Because we weren't up yet n to be safe I called the front desk. This wonderful woman was so upset we were disturbed. ( she knew all about us n that we had come in late n we're exhausted ) n tho I hadn't complained she authorized our stay to be covered. "It's just what we do". I was so touched I broke down n cried. We had been traveling from Michigan for the last 3 days and this treatment was just unheard of. Tho all our most hotels treated us well. None compared to this. Plus there were personal sticky notes on the headboard. Funny little rubber construction duck on the bath tub n origami towel animals evrywhere. The bed was amazingly confortable. The rooms were clean n just wonderful. I can tell how much these women's kindness meant to us. To top it off a bout a month after our stay I received a letter from this same hotel again apologizing for our inconvenience n giving us another night free. WHO DOES THIS?? Hampton Inn Joliet, that's who. Amazing place n 'family ' tho it's about a 6 1/2 hr drive we will definitely go back there again. THANK YOU LADY'S FOR YOUR AMAZING...

So very disappointed. The place is a covid hotbed. The hotel is non- compliant with their own covid guidelines. They advertise how they disinfect, seal your room etc. When I checked in there were 2 men sitting at the lobby table. No masks. Bowl of fruit for anyone to take between them on the table. So they were breathing all over the food. An hour later there was another man. So now 3 people spreading germs and no masks. 6 hours later there were a group of high school aged people running around the first floor with no masks. This place may disinfect your room. But you have to get to the room first. The clerk on duty at the desk is doing nothing. I called their 800 number to speak with someone, 1 hour and 45 minutes later I hung up as no one answered. Instead called the 800 reservation number. Within 10 minutes I had someone on the phone. She could not help but transferred me to a guest relations person. At this point it has been another 30 minutes on hold. They obviously can have enough people to take your money. But no one to help with issues at your hotel. So run, don't walk, run to any other hotel in the area. Stay away from this viral hotbed.
Updated on Saturday evening. This morning went down to review breakfast. Clerk at desk not wearing mask. Coffee out where anyone can touch things. Decided to pass on their food. Left at 7am. Returned around 930pm. Room never touched. Old towels on floor. Bed unmade. No vacuum garbage emptied etc. People walking all over the place with no masks. Went downstairs for towels. Told clerk everything bad. No masks on employees guests etc.

Read moreAfter driving nearly 32 hours straight from Phoenix, AZ to Joliet, we were exhausted. All we wanted was a relaxing soak in a jacuzzi.
I called ahead to several hotels in the Joliet area and chose this particular hotel ONLY because they told me they had a jacuzzi, it was open and working.
Well they did have a jacuzzi. But it was COOL temp, not warm, not hot. Extremely disappointing.
Thankfully, the hot water in the room worked wonderfully so I took a soak in there.
The room was modern, mostly clean, recent paint job...all good there. I say mostly clean because there was a used bath towel left hanging on the back of the bathroom door. Not ours.
Check-in by Jess was extraordinary. Her bubbly personality and smiling face is a huge asset to your hotel.
Check-out was good as well. Lady working 4th of July reception desk was on point and friendly (sorry I missed her name).
This place could easily get 5 stars and be one of my regular spots if they hadn't had a broken jacuzzi and lied about it. I could've stayed at a hotel who was honest about their broken jacuzzi and saved $60.
Breakfast was mediocre. The waffles are the only good part IMHO. And we brought our own strawberries to improve them.
Meh. Staff and nice room made me want to love this place. If you don't care about broken Jacuzzis or lies, this place is for you.
My toy poodle was very comfortable and loved this shelf hideaway. He...
