Heroes West Sports Grill — Restaurant in Joliet

Today i took my daughter to this location for their wing Wednesday special. We used to go at least 3x a month but haven't been in a while so today she was excited to go. We get there were greeted and sat down right away hardly anyone in there around 2:00pm . And when the waitress came to take our order as soon as i mentioned the wing special the entire experience and service from this lady went bad. She started off blaming the new owners for the new rules they pit on their wing Wednesday. So I'm like ok id still like to order the amount i wanted. She immediately started questioning me and trying to convince me rudely to not order the amount i wanted saying she will charge me full price if i don't finish them and i told her not to worry i will . And kept telling me i couldn't theres no way i can thats too much food for one person and kept going on . Which made me feel like she was making me feel fat for wanting that amount . I normally get 12 but new rules u have to order in sets of 8 so now i am at 16 but also shared with my daughter so she could have her 8 plus couple of mine. Then after going back and forth she put our order in for wings and was about to walk off i said wait we also would like to order side salads and soups her reply was an i crazy ? Thats too much food . That shes telling me now there no way i should order anymore food.?! So now she wants to make me feel bad and tell me what i can or cant eat or order? I wasn't comfortable at all with how she made me feel .But my daughter still wanted to stay so we did. Then she kept checking my plate each time she passed to see if I'm failing like she said i would and then brought me boxes as i was still eating and then the check while i was still eating which now i feel like she rushing me out. Then handed me to go lids as well and said she was shocked how well i did. So i stopped eating and packed our stuff up. Then she made a comment and laughed asking me if i needed anything else or wanted to order anything? And as i responded actually.. she cuts me off and says that was a silly question to ask that i have enough groceries now for the next couple of days in left overs and walks off?!! . All i was going to ask for was a to go cup for my drink but after she made that last comment i was just done. As much as i enjoy the food at this location the new rules from the new owners messed with my experience as well as how the waitress made me and my daughter feel . I will not be coming back anymore if this is how customers are treated now. Her name was Lisa. Only gave this review 2 stars becuase the food still...

Food is good, and prices are fair. Beware of waitresses changing their minds about how they sell the specials to you.

I've only been here 3 times. Each time on a Wednesday. I've ordered wings and they have a special of .70 cents a wing for bone-in or boneless 8ct or 16ct. The 1st and 2nd time I visited nobody told me the "rule" that you can't get the deal if you don't finish your wings. I ordered 16 wings to share with my husband both times. We brought home 12 wings and the waitress didn't tell us about any rule. I showed up on a Wednesday for the 3rd and final time. I ordered 16 boneless wings, a salad, and the Buffalo Chicken rolls. The waitress had a bit of an attitude while I was ordering. She told me the 8ct was perfect for me, and I said no I wanted 16ct, she tried again to sell me on 8ct because they're "big wings." I explained that I knew the size. I ate my salad, and then the wings showed up. I ate some chicken and half a roll. Eventually, asked for 2 boxes and the check. The waitress brought me one box and 3 lids. When she came back, I asked for another box and 3 lids for the sauces. She left, came back without a box, and said "I can't give you the price for the wings, you can't leave here with them, you have to eat them all here. You can't take them to go. So you'll have to pay full price." I asked where it said that I couldn't take them home and she kept telling me that she told me that in the beginning. She never said something like this. I didn't want to argue, so I asked for the manager. He came over and he had no idea what the waitress was talking about. He said it was a communication error. I made sure I got my wings for the price from the website and the door. I'm giving fewer stars because a waitress arguing that I can't take my food home. She wouldn't give me another box either. Eventually, she came back and acted all nicey-nice. No tips for...

Great sports bar, if you like that kind of thing. YaY Sports!

I was dragged here for lunch by an indigenous business associate, so we could discuss sales, and so I could undoubtedly, pick up the check.

The atmosphere was typical sports bar, inexpensive basic furnishings, because lets face it, if you have skimpily dressed female servers, beer, more tv's than should be allowed by law all showing sports with closed captioning, and ice cold beer, there is no reason to be frivolous with nice things, because as sports lovin', red blooded, meat eating, American Men, we're just going to get drunk, brake stuff, and pee on things anyways, so there's no reason to spoil us with tables that don't wobble, because if your beer spills because of the aforementioned table, the aforementioned skimpily dressed server will simply bring you more. YaY Sports bars!

The food was actually pretty good. I had the Macon Bacon burger, ( how cute is that, right? They spelled it M-a- c-o-n instead of m-a-k-i-n-g, pretty cleaver, so as to not directly insinuate 2 members of the Suiade family having coitus. Talk about marketing genius) and a bowl of soup. The bacon cheeseburger, comes in two fun artery blocking sizes, which I don't recall the weighs, but it amounted to big or even bigger. The burger was cooked nicely, seasoned well, generously sized with plenty of thick cut bacon, ample amounts of cheese and all the fixings. (I love saying "fixings" or maybe it should be "fixins")

The service was ok, and the prices were reasonable, based on the portion sizes and quality of the food.

So to sum it up: good food, sports, basic furnishings, because we can't have nice things, refer to the 3rd paragraph, skimpily clad servers, beer, televisions, closed captioning, sports, and beer.
