Charlie's Chicken — Restaurant in Joplin

We just waited nearly 25 minutes in the drive through AFTER placing our order, then finally when we pulled up to the window a girl opens the window to just then tell us they're out of some of the stuff we ordered now and offered a substitute, which was slightly annoying but I get it. Then about 7 minutes later she comes back and tells us they're also now out of mashed potatoes... so now we're 32 minutes in and they're suddenly out of 3/4 of what we ordered. We just asked for our money back and to speak to the manager , the boy, yes BOY with braces and a manbun says, "what can I help you with" when I tell him has occurred he does the whole eyebrow raise face that pretty much expresses, "And your problem is?" He then goes on to say he didn't know they were out of these things till just now so they couldn't have told us sooner, this whole staff were children who decided they didn't want to work past 8pm since they close at 9pm is what just happened. So if it wasn't already made food, suddenly they were out. Thank you so much for wasting our time and making it to where we now have to go somewhere else to wait. Btw the car in front of us didn't get their food either and I'm sure the 3cars behind us received the same treatment. Having literally a boy child 'managing' your store is a terrible choice, this kid has no respect, lacked customer service and empathy, lacks work wthic, and has ZERO leadership skills. Ordered here on 3 occasions and on all 3 occasions, the food was consistently mediocre. If you have never been to a Charlie's Chicken, it is a cafeteria style restaurant. You go to the counter to order and the server spoons out your sides from a container. If you get a chance watch when they grab a scoop of the green beans. I went with a #2 combo, which is a 3 piece with 2 sides. For my sides I got the mashed potatoes with gravy, and coleslaw. For my chicken, I was able to select 3 Thighs! This is why I love high school servers, they take care of you! Oh, I forgot to mention a sweet bread roll was also included. There wasn't one item in this combo that stood out. Everything was pretty bland. The coleslaw was crisp and did taste fresh, but the sauce was barely present. From what I could tell it wasn't a sweet sauce. The mashed potatoes were the same, consistency was fine, and gravy tasted like simple gravy mix, nothing exceptional. As for the roll, it was not edible as it was pretty firm. I took a small piece and did not touch the rest of the roll. The 3 thighs were crispy, and greasy. The seasoning on the breading was plain, nothing stood out. So I placed an order on 2.29.24 through door dash that was messed up and cold. I call the restaurant and explain the situation, the employee transferred me to the manager and he says he will write my name down and I can come back and get the correct order. I told him he would be at a later date because I was at work and couldn't leave. I go today, to get my replacement order and they tell me my order has been picked up. I told them I have not picked the order up and they tell me its been marked in the system as picked up. I tell them again that I have not been back since my order was messed up. Employee goes to the back and talks to manager and comes back and says manager won't replace since it has been picked up. Young girl working says I remember this order because and older lady came in to get the order and we couldn't hardly understand her. I said , do I look like an old lady and are you able to understand me? Employee do you want anything today. Yes I guess I am paying for my lunch since I am not getting my meal replaced that one of your employees messed up.

Will not go back. Literally lunch time with only 3 customers in the building. Not good...
