Came in at 3pm today Thursday. @ Joplin Mo location - got seated looked like they were short staffed after lunch rush or they were busier than computers scheduled the help for idk for the time of day I call the lull thats in-between lunch rush and dinner push. Met a server named Issac were not local but have ate here several times in past years. Wanted to say Issac and two to three other servers were being ran hard,so I knew that it was a bad time to come in this time. Here we go refills and service would be few and dont expect much from this location today is what my feeling was today. However I was dead wrong not only did our server handle us well plus several other tables with a shockingly great attitude. Our tea really good and filled asked for extra napkins when he was able bam didnt forget. Food exactly as he recommended when we asked what our server Issac thought was good or sales well it was spot on, the kitchen did a great job on pot pie & the loaded baked potato soup we split the two, and the meal or the bill was 20.20 after tax. Told my wife I was pissed this guy Issac was so good im gonna have to tip this guy. I was hoping he sucked like the servers at every restaurant back home one hour south of Joplin where the menu and the bill is full of surprises always no fun suprises if i may just a little rabbit trail when the bill comes where we live mgmt doesnt need your business and really wished you hadn't come in, tell you the truth even if you only come n less than 5x s a year that's home for ya 60-70 min south of Joplin. We dont drink or order alcohol overpriced food unfortunately more times than one can count its mediocre all to often sad but all to often true. back home everytime you get your bill it seems higher than it should be funny how the mistake always favors the house 99.9 percent of the time it must be a coincidence....... no way.
We don't have a Cheddars and never have had although Joplin Branson Fort Smith Fort Smith are you kidding and we don't have one wow .....
Cheddars in Joplin thank you for hiring quality selfless staff everytime anytime we have visited from the servers to the kitchen and the bathrooms etc.
Cheddars, Joplin Location impressive especially for coming just after the lunch rush period refreshing. I would say we got lucky but this is the 4th time at this location in 4 years about once a year if you come during peak hours most likely a wait or possibly the bar has seating, or dine outside weather permitting. Most of all you can't go wrong if you call ahead and find out if Issac is still there and if so when will he be in next you would like to sit in his area but no really thanks Issac my wife will be shocked I gave a restaurant such a good review.
least I can do is share my experience i tell the truth when we come after all restaurants charge and most charge a lot starting with coke or tea.
My wife doesnt like it when I am honest It sounds negative to her I just can't stick my head in the sand it is what it is and im sorry Business-to-business if your business model cant provide a good value I hope you go out of business or leave our area back home please.
The staff at Cheddars right now makes this place worth it and that says a lot about the mgmt team thats in place for the time being they actually get it. Joplin Cheddars you deserve to be recognized either by magazines like 417 mag or others key to the city idk maybe ill write your politicians and suggest some recognition in some manner.
Last if you happen to go up there to Cheddars and you catch the place on an off day I apologize in advance it's not the norm for we're not up there very often so maybe we got blessed idk. Remember try to ask for server Issacs section can't go wrong with this main if he can hold onto what he has going currently he will get to where he wants to n life thanks friend hope we see you again sometime.
P.s. don't make me tip you again Ill have to avoid this awesome interstate get in and get out dive from mgmt to dishwasher lord willing illbeback

Read moreThis was our 1st ever visit to a Cheddar's and it won't be the last. I think it is probably the friendliest 'chain' restaurant I've been in for a long time. I was very impressed with our waitress, her attention to detail A+, she totally deserved the bigger than normal tip we left.
The restaurant was really clean in a way that you'd notice when you first walk in. The food certainly smelled very good but there was also a noticeable freshness to the air. I liked that.
I was actually surprised at the prices on the menu. Very reasonable to say the least with nothing on the menu seeming to be overpriced. A combo half rack of ribs and 8 oz ribeye steak, under $20...nice!
The food. Excellent. Maria had a bourbon glazed salmon and she just loved it. I had a bite and I'll say it's probably the best salmon I've had anywhere, Maria agrees. Completely moist and the bourbon glaze was prefect. I could go on but you just need to try it.
I had a steak and ribs and I'll say this about the ribs. They were excellent, but I'm quite picky about ribs and I have had better but those came from places that totally specialize in bbq.
Now my steak, a different story. Again, quite picky on my steaks. I sous vide them to perfection here at home so the chef has to be on their 'A' game to get my attention. He had my attention at the first bite. This steak was what all steaks should aspire to be. Congrats to the chef today, maybe less than a handful of times have I ever ate a steak and felt like the bar had been raised. Quality of meat, desired doneness, seasoned to an exact taste, check all the right boxes. Loved it!
Plenty of free parking with handicap access inside and out. Clean restrooms looking freshly attended to, always appreciated.
++ Special covid measures that we observed were all staff wearing masks, immediately sanitizing after customers left and I did notice they offer...
Read moreI was fired over leaving early one day, and I was never late before, and even came in early on multiple occasions. I was hired on as a dishwasher, but left also having knowledge of the cook line for cold side. I was fired by Alec and Chris. Alec could not deal with the fact I needed to leave, and Chris could not deal with the fact of covering my position, for the last few hours of the day. I came in the next day I was scheduled, on time, and in uniform, to be told I no longer worked here by Chris. In my opinion, Chris and Alec are the worst members of the management here, and a negative representation of the entire Cheddarâs business. I am thankful to no longer have them as my supervisors, and to no longer work with Matthew or Bradley as coworkers, because of the fact that they were always rude to me in the area I worked in, and I came in everyday myself in the best attitude I could be in toward others. Matthew would get upset at me over the dishes coming out of the machine dirty, as if I had anything to do with it, and take it personally against me, and Bradley was disrespectful over a cross tattoo with an army helmet I have on my hand for fallen soldiers, because my Grandfather served as an aerial photographer during World War 2, and my friend in High School that committed suicide served in the armed forces. There are also, in addition, spiritual beliefs I have in Jesus Christ, and the fact that the symbol stands for a ministry here in Joplin that I spent time with for...
