Usually when we come here, the service is decent, and the food is always amazing. We had no doubt we wanted to come here for our birthday breakfast; and sadly it was so disappointing and ruined our morning. When we walked in, there were about 4 staff members waiting to greet people, and they all just stared at us and didn’t say a word for a good 15 seconds. The girl that brought us to our table was extremely unfriendly. Then the waiter was mumbling so quietly and was also extremely unfriendly. We could barely hear a word he was saying the whole time. We ordered our food and he didn’t write it down, which is fine if he could’ve remember everything correctly. We started with loaded tater tots, which were very good and we were happy with. Then we waited a good 20 minutes for our food to come out. He switched the plates, so I got what my sister ordered and then he sat what was supposed to be mine in front of her. He walked away immediately, and we both looked at each others plates and realized one of them we had no idea what it was. We wouldn’t have been so upset about him messing up our order if he had come back and checked on us so we could’ve told him he messed up. Literally 15 minutes later he came back and asked how everything was, when the wrong food clearly sat at the edge of the table untouched for that entire time. He glanced over at us a few times before coming back and looked right at it, but refused to come ask how everything was looking/tasting. When he came back, I very politely told him i ordered the biscuits and gravy with hash browns and over easy eggs. He didn’t say a word, gave us a confused look and just took it and walked away. No apology or anything. He brought the right food out about 5 minutes later, and again didn’t say anything when he sat it down. Again he didn’t come back for another 15 minutes, and brought us the check. To top all of that off, he didn’t correct the check; he rang us up for chicken tater tot casserole with sausage… we didn’t have the time or patience to tell him to correct it, even though what I actually ordered was cheaper than what he rang us up for. We paid and left. Very disappointing for our birthday breakfast. Won’t be coming back here after that! Sad because the food is usually really...
Read moreMy family and I were in town for a few days and decided to try Anna’s House after being told about it by our Uber driver and knowing our group wouldn’t fit in Crow’s Nest (where we wanted to go). There were 7 of us and we checked in online and were 45th in line (no complaints here, I 100% appreciate the online check in). It gave us an estimated time to arrive but we got there a little early and had to wait outside, which was fine as it was Father’s Day so we figured it would be busy. The restaurant is decorated beautifully but the food missed the mark in my book. I ordered the Cuban Benedict but all I could taste was overwhelming mustard so I didn’t eat much. My girlfriend had the salmon hash and said it was good but it was mostly potatoes with little meat. My godson ordered French toast off the kids menu but what we didn’t realize was that it wasn’t normal French toast, it was baked French bread with a berry and cream sauce. It was good to the adults but he just wanted regular French toast so he just ate someone else’s pancakes instead. I 100% get the adults could have easily read the kids menu and determined he wouldn’t eat that ahead of time, I guess we just didn’t expect. All in all the flavor profiles were a miss for us with the exception of the cinnamon roll that we ordered for the table (not too sweet). They also had an extensive menu, which I find is usually a warning sign that the quality won’t be as good, this place confirmed that. Service was great but...
Read moreVery disappointing experience at a highly recommended establishment. It was understandably busy for a Saturday morning, but we were seated in a reasonable time with no issues. Our drink order was taken after a lengthy wait, and after another extended delay, we received an obviously dirty coffee cup. The server removed it, offered to replace it, but then placed it on a service tray and took another table's order. He then went back to the kitchen and served another table's meal while we waited. When the cup was brought, it was put on the table without comment as he walked by. Our food order was delivered and it was immediately found to have a hair in the pancake syrup. When we let him know he said "oh, okay, hang on" and went and took another table's order. As the food cooled, we watched him perform tasks around the floor before finally returning. We advised the manager and he seemed genuinely apologetic and offered us a large discount on the meal. When it came time to pay, the server took my credit card, swiped it, handed it back to me, and walked away without comment. He just left. My party and I were totally confused about whether I had paid, how much I had paid, and where he had gone. We finally got up to leave, and he returned with a clipboard for me to complete the transaction. Overall a very strange and disappointing experience. The food was above average and priced well for sure, but the service and standards could...
