Cosmo's Cucina & O'Duffy's Pub — Restaurant in Kalamazoo

HORRENDOUS!! There are 10 better restaurants withing a few miles of here, don't waste your time! Should have went to McDonald's would have gotten better service and food. Not even sure where to start.

Drove 30 minutes to eat here as sounded like they had great lasagna, well their information isn't updated on Google so they had a Springtime Lasangna not the one listed on Google.

Ok, not a huge deal, ordered a steak medium rare, it was well done. Should have known when it took 30 minutes to get it when they weren't busy.

Jamie was "helping" behind the bar and I'm assuming he was the owner. He either had too many sodas or needs to just get out of the way. Watched him take 10 minutes to somewhat pour 3 beers. He hurts the business significantly more than he helps whoever he is!

Water sat empty for 20 minutes after I asked for a refill and never got one.

Ordered a glass of wine and wanted a second after sitting empty for 10 minutes and the bartender and Jamie were literally sitting right in front of me.

I'm in the business and pretty forgiving so I Ordered some dessert and another water. After 20 plus minutes neither arrived so I told the bartender to just cancel my order and she said "oh, I haven't even put it in yet"

Both the bartender and Jamie should find other careers, they weren't even remotely busy and the servoce business isn't for them!

---DETAILS--- ★OVERVIEW I haven't been in years, and I'm so glad I went. I'd say it was better than ever. It was just the kind of experience I love to encounter in a neighborhood pub. It was cozy with nice lighting, and people actually engaging with one another.

★STAFF & SERVICE Delightful and soooo good! It was crazy busy with people at every table and in every seat at the bar, and the staff actually seemed to be ENJOYING themselves. What a breath of fresh air! Smiles, efficiency, attention, kindness, helpfulness, fun, politeness, respect, and I could go on, but I think people will understand what I'm getting at :)

★MUSIC! They have a great lineup of musicians who also love what they do, and it shows in their music and interaction with everyone else. It's lovely.

Recently tried Cosmo's for the first time. Overall it was a good experience. I had a dish contained poached eggs with hollandaise, corned beef hash, rye bread and potatoes. The poached eggs had solid yokes, which isn't how I prefer them. Generally, poached eggs are supposed to have runny yokes, and I'll ask for that next time. The corned beef hash was where the dish shined. Cosmo's corned beef is excellent. I bet they would make a very good ruben. The rye bread served with the dish was very good, and the potatos were also good.The hollandaise sauce was bland, which is a shame because hollandaise should be so flavorful.

The portion size for my meal was good, though my wife's was small. The prices are reasonable, but maybe just a little bit overpriced. The service was decent, not great, but not bad. The wait for the dish was a little long. The atmosphere was pleasant, second floor above an Irish pub (very similar to the style of the Crow's Nest). Overall, I enjoyed the dish, and the experience enough to try...
