Ordered Shish Tawook and Fatoosh.
Fatoosh: Delighted when the fried pita chips were on 'top' when I emptied the salad from the styrofoam container onto my plate (meaning they were placed in the container first, on the bottom). Perfect, just right, and so thoughtful! Loved it!
Strangest fattoush I've ever had.there were sliced onions on it that seemed seasoned as if it were a Greek salad, and maybe that was a bit influenced by the fact that it was served with a red wine vinaigrette Greek dressing.
All traditional flavors such as mint or lemon were missing. It was delicious, but definitely not what I would call fattoush, however I am not an expert, so you can make your own call—though I did learn how to make Greek dressing from the Greeks!
Sandwich: Even though I verified that they make everything there, themselves, and that they have both chicken shawarma and beef shawarma, they could not make the sandwich with beef instead of chicken. I cannot fathom how this cannot be. That was a bit disappointing.
The man you said the sandwich came with both garlic sauce and tahini, but it was a bit dry, and by the time I was finishing it, I was glad to have the excess Greek dressing on my plate to soak it in.
The pickles were there, however not prominent.
while I have not very many sandwiches to compare this to, the coolness of a garlic sauce with the zip of a pickle with the meat and its spices and juices that I was as hoping for were a bit lacking.
I can hope that as business picks up as COVID-related downtime fades, perhaps things will improve a bit.
Until then... maybe I'll stop in and say hello as the staff was great. Lovely. The energy was really good, and everybody was working; nobody standing around looking at their phones, which was refreshing, and the staff appreciation invested in what they were doing and I completely back that kind of integrity. I love that.
So in summary, I'll be back... in some form. But definitely not to order what I ordered, and maybe not to order food at...
Read moreThis was definitely a different crave for me, I was thinking of a slight healthy but tasteful meal which that it was! The steak was pretty tender but could’ve had less fat & ends I prefer all meat with no fat and been more tender. I also added chicken to my wrap & the chicken was very good & the seasoning mixed with the steak, mixed veggies, & the sauce they put on their shawarma’s! The fries were well seasoned & fried crispy but soft in the middle, I say it definitely was one of the best shawarmas I’ve had in west Michigan! I definitely will be supporting and giving this establishment another shot and see what else on the menu is really my favorite to say the least because 1 item can never give you the full experience of a restaurant or its best dishes, as well as factoring I’ve never really ate middle eastern style food much besides the shawarma’s because it’s what I am familiar with! The environment was chill as well as the employees, also have affordable pricing not to costly to make a custom request! 🤔 what’s your favorite middle eastern dish? Or something...
Read moreI went to Middle Eastern Appetite just a few days ago and I kinda regret my decision now. I ordered a chicken salad, a small dish of hummus, and a beef (shish) kafta lunch platter.
First of all, the customer service was not pleasant at all. The two guys who packed my food and gave me utensils did not have their gloves on and considering the current situation (COVID-19), this was the first thing that really turned me off about this place.
I picked up my orders and head over to the Oshtemo park to have my meals there. By the time I got there (which took me only about 10 minutes), my salad was drowned in the overwhelming amount of dressing that was put there! Another turn off!
The hummus was ok; nothing impressive and the beef kafta had too much seasonings. Overall, I don’t recommend this place mostly because of their poor customer service and lack of safety precautions that the current...
