I have been buying, selling, and trading antiques for around 5 years now, and some of you that read this may even know me personally. I went into Kalamazoo antiques market today (6-16-16) and I was greeted by a gentleman and we talked for a quick bit and I told him I deal antiques and so forth and I preceded to look through the mall. I overheard the guy say he was leaving (because it's so small in there), and I heard the door shut. I finished making my way through the mall, admired some stuff for a bit, then I made my way to the counter to talk to the employee about buying some items I had for sale. She was in the back of the store with what appeared to be a customer, I waited, took some fliers for upcoming antiques shows. I have been in the store at this point for maybe 25mins tops including the talk time between me and the gentleman, when.... 2 Kalamazoo bike cops walk in the store and try to id me. I ask them "what Is the problem", "well", the cop says..."This lady called us, and said you have been in the store to long, and would like you to leave". I was beyond embarrassed by this, I felt humiliated, harassed, and unjustifiable profiled by the lady who was working.
