I’ve been coming to Core for 1.5 years now, and the staff has always been nothing short of friendly and amazing. However, lately, the wait times have been outrageously long. Today, my partner and I stopped in for a ‘quick coffee run,’ but there was nothing quick about it.
After waiting for 40 minutes, we decided it was time to leave. To make matters worse, only one of us received our coffee, making the experience even more frustrating. For a place that used to be efficient, it’s disappointing to see how much the service has slowed down. Hopefully, the owners can address these delays soon.
---Update--- The owners have experienced growth in their business and are actively working to address the long wait times. They also issued a refund and apology to my partner and me for the inconvenience. Overall, the issue was handled professionally, which sets this business apart. The owners take accountability and make things right. As long as Core Coffee maintains these standards, my partner and I will remain loyal customers. Thank you,...
Read moreYou may call us creatures of habit, we found this amazing coffee shop in KC on our first full day there and when I say it was healing, I mean it. We had full intentions on finding a few local coffee shops during our stay but after visiting @corecoffeekc we knew we had found where we needed to be. The relaxing chairs, quiet atmosphere, friendly and personal owners (Deanna and Eric) and slow pace was exactly what we needed. The core breakfast was Dana’s go to and mine the avocado toast. The coffee is incredibly flavor forward, meaning you don’t just get sugary coffee but rather can taste the flavor and coffee mingling together. I think my favorite had to be the brown sugar cinnamon which Deanna makes the syrup in house! It is like a hug for your insides. So warm and comforting. Deanna remembered our names and even took time to sit and get to know us and that truly meant so much. If you’re in KC make a stop by Core Coffee, it’s truly worth it, believe me. #coffee #corecoffee...
Read moreAs a self-proclaimed foodie, I have to let you know that the new (second) Splitlog Coffee is open and serving a great, yet limited menu. Today I sampled their Avocado Toast. It was very, very tasty! A delicate blend of flavors, including fresh avocado, pickled red onion, feta and a hint of special chili pepper makes this dish both healthy and delicious!
Everything is made in small batches to keep the freshness at its peak - and there are usually 2 soup offerings which are unique recipes. Today I had a bowl of the Potato Soup. It too was a perfect blending of flavors, with chopped kale and a chili spice that 'kicked it up a notch' and brought the potato soup to life.
Splitlog's main offering is their coffee, supplied by Oddly Correct, so even if you just go for the coffee, you'll be very pleased!
If you'd like a light to medium lunch, or just want to have a great cup of coffee in a new and well-appointed coffee bar, treat yourself to Splitlog Coffee in...
