We were visiting KC and wanted an early lunch. We looked up halal restaurants close by and this popped up. After seeing the low amount of Google reviews we thought let’s try with zero expectations. We walked in and asked the owner at the counter what he recommended, he said lunch was too early to serve at 11am and he recommended getting breakfast, and he’ll serve us what he had. Told us to try the chai also. We agreed and were delighted. The chai was spicy and hot, the ginger in it was something we never had, it was good. For breakfast we got the meat stew with injira was pretty good, heavy but delicious. I can see why people may not like the service or have high expectations. My advice is to just try it, be patient and change your views on how you think a restaurant should operate. The food is delicious…. Just soak up the environment and culture

It's kinda confusing at first given the area, but some customers helped out. A customer rang the bell at the order counter, then a guy came out from the kitchen, but he walked past me and started cleaning the tables, then he came to the kitchen talking to someone else while pointing at me, most conversations weren't in English. Then maybe the chef/owner came out from the kitchen, talked in English and cleared out my confusion. I got my food a few minutes after ordering, the chef/owner skipped my tips. Food was huge portion and delicious. The rice and chicken was a bit charred and very flavorful. The green sauce was very good, it's spicy but I only felt the spice at the back of my throat, with the lime to freshen up and balance out all the spices.

I really hate to leave a negative review on this place as it has been one of my favorite places to go these whole year to the point where I’ve come in at least every other week for the samosa’s. At first they were always fresh and hot ..the whole last couple of months they have been hot on the outside and real cold on the inside. I don’t know if the cooks have got lazy but these are no longer enjoyable and I will be giving my business elsewhere to other business’s who will take pride in the quality of the food they serve. Mind you I have complained about this issue to the establishment multiple times with no change on their end.

The menu is still under construction, so they will work with you about what they have and different options.

They haven't been here long, so there aren't pictures to look at or clear prices. You just have to ask.

Overall, everything was spectacular. The tea was also really good, but a little strong (spicy chai with milk).

Once the TV's are up and running with a easier menu to understand, it will go up to five stars.

There's also only one (maybe two) cooks, so you will have to be patient with the waiting time. I'd recommend, and go back once the above things are fixed.

They were very patient with us trying to decide, but it made me feel needy having to ask exactly what everything was, and what else they had.

I loved the kidney beans and cabbage, but no complaints really about anything. Avoid that green sauce if you don't like your...
