Decent coffee for such mean service. Donât get me wrong the coffee is ok by coffee standards, the guys taking the order were nice. But I take my mask off for a second just to get a sip of coffee and this woman snaps at me âyou need to have your mask on unless youâre at a table.â I apologize and she shakes her head instead of saying anything. Look itâs your business and you make the rules, I totally understand that and respect that too. But Iâve went through this entire pandemic trying to keep myself and others protected. I try to keep others health and best interests at heart but what she did to me, how she said it, not cool. I pay for your goods and she treats me like that? Itâs as simple as saying, âexcuse me sir please refrain from taking your mask off unless your sitting at a table.â Iâm not your child barista, so I expect to be treated like a regular customer. Very disappointed. Probably wonât be coming back...especially when broadway coffee is just down the street.
EDIT: Emily, while I appreciate your reply and your desire to protect your own, this is not a situation where you ought to be telling me essentially If I followed the rules, that interactions such as this can be avoided. All I was looking for is for hopefully someone to, at some level, sympathize and offer an apology for the interaction I encountered. And you couldn't even offer an apology on behalf of the employee.
The choice I made, to briefly remove my facial mask to sip my coffee (more like a natural instinct when I have a delicious coffee in my hand and distanced from anyone in the coffee shop) did not warrant this unwelcoming and jabbing response from the barista, especially taking into consideration that there were people sitting down at tables without masks on. That double standard is ridiculous and I'm not here to argue about mask policies or rules, as I said in my original post, I realize everyone was doing the best they could in that hard time, and it was never my intention to break any rule the coffee shop may have had. However, I wish the staff member would've been kind enough to give me the benefit of the doubt and at least remind me of their policy in a kind and respectful way instead of barking at me like I was a non-compliant customer. "I'm sorrys" can really go far, even if it isn't you who's sorry or even if you don't mean it, because no matter how you frame it, that interaction, more like her yelling at me and me bashfully muttering an "I'm sorry" in shock and embarrassment, should not have...
Read moreCrows coffee is a great spot if you need a break from the busy life of the city. Very cozy, has a bunch of dog treats in a bowl for pets and free ice water! Interior is very cozy looking and I'm pretty sure they have free wifi. Absolutely a great cafe.
Staff has always been nice Everytime I go there. Even when you can tell they are very busy and stressed they don't treat you any differently. Always quick to help, always help you find what your looking for.
However I won't deny that sometimes food can be a little mediocre and over priced. 7$ for a small iced latte where some other spots can give you 5 for a large I got a cheese croissant from there and the thing was bitter as could be and tasted burnt. Coffee is ok, the few times I went in there I got something different. Once a ice vanilla coffee that didn't taste like there was any vanilla in it. A cup of hot chocolate that was good but a bit watery and a iced latte that was pretty decent but nothing special. That's my only gripe with crows is that there are other coffee shops in KC that simply just are better priced for what taste like the same thing.
Overall I do genuinely think it's a cute cozy coffee shop to check out and if your on main Street I advise...
Read moreAs we walked into the place it had a pride flag so we were hopeful this would be a good experience. As we went to order we had asked if there were any vegan bakery options, the cashier grabbed a pre packaged rice krispie and wasnât sure about any allergen information (totally understandable if they donât have vegan options, but Iâd expect them to know the allergen info). For a coffee and chai with oat milk it was $20 something dollars, then they proceeded to finish our drinks fast except the chocolate chai was made as a mocha coffee. We were in no rush and understand the mix up, but they did not handle the mistake very gracefully. The barista looked very annoyed with me and proceeded to remake the drink very aggressively, which they put whole milk in instead of oat, so they had to remake it again(continuing being annoyed) after they had finished the drink they were throwing lids around and throwing ice into the drink where it had mostly spilled onto the ground. I had no hostility towards this person and I was in no rush, but the barista made me feel very threatened and...
